Hmmm, I actually kind of like Shannon. She's strong-willed, rational, and sticks to her guns. My problem is with the dude, Kane. He's manipulative, doesn't listen to her, and does everything at his own pace. He's proud, and never bends for Shannon. She told him about her past relationship, anyone could see why she's hesitant to get involved with someone again, especially someone who freely admitted he married his ex only because she was pregnant, made her keep the baby, then divorced her because he didn't like her, and kept their kid. Seriously, not cool.

From what I understood was that she walked out and left the kid behind but everything else you wrote seems accurate

This is decent but I didn't see why on the date night, Shannon was dressed somewhat trashy compared to the fashion of the jazz club. She's quite an elegant and strong female so the date night thing kind of set me back on my opinion of her. Everything else was alright for an HQ

I almost withdrew from reading by just seeing the first page. It required me much effort to ignore the pretty male lead - he just looks too female for me.

I wanted to like this, but frankly I expect more emotional maturity from Josei. In the end, Shannon just fills the role of the girl who is too scared and immature to admit her own feelings and Kane is the all-knowing man who understands her better than she herself does. In effect, middle school level Shoujo stuff.
i really love the way the artist draws the hair in this manga, makes me fall in love with the story even more, pity there is no more works on batoto by the same artist xD
