Description: Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou

Yukino Miyazawa is the perfect model student. Pretty, kind, good at sports, always at the top of her class. But she's not all that she seems. It's all an act of deception; she is really the self-confessed 'queen of vanity,' and her only goal in life is winning the praise and admiration of everyone around her.

When she enters high school, she finally meets her match: Soichiro Arima, a handsome, athletic, popular, and very intelligent young boy. Ever since he stole the top seat in the class from her, Yukino has hated him, and has been plotting on how to take back her former place as the object of all other students' admiration.

What she wasn't expecting, however, was that Soichiro, the very boy she hated, would confess his love for her. Or that he would find out about her deception - and use it to blackmail her!

Together, they discover that they have more in common than they knew, and they slowly begin to bring out each other's inner selves.

* Also included are the following short stories in this manga:

• The Tiger and the Chameleon - A Promise
for One Week (Vol. 1)

• Ashita Mata Mori de Aoune (Meet Me Again Tomorrow in the Forest; Vol. 4) -
Always an outcast because of her black hair the heroine of the story finds a strange man in the forest - a man from Earth - and he has black hair, too!

I tried reading this shoujo since it seems like one of the best however it´s hard because of the art, jousei art is annoying but shoujo art is just the worst IMO, at least I´ll say this looks like an excellent manga

There's bad art and then there's art that uses conventions different from what you're used to.

Ore no me wa  fushiana  ga arudeshou ka??? I can only see two chapters 27 & 33 WHY TT.TT

This is one of my favourite mangas of all time. This was one I remember reading in sixth grade haha. It was kind of one do my firsts I suppose and still love it. If you're hesistant about the art, well it does improve as you read further. But the stop and characters are absolutely worth it. Trust me. I could not possibly sing enough praise for this series.

For anybody who do not read this because of the art, i feel you. *brofist*

But the comments section states this as a classic, so i will try to read it.

See you later for the actual comment for the manga.

The rest can be found in mangahere

This brings back memories of what a good shoujo manga is. Where are mangas like this now a days?!
Gotta chime in with everyone else. This is one of the great classic shoujo; great characters, plot, pacing, emotion, art . . . it fires on all the cylinders. One of my all time favourites in any genre. Some of the secondary characters and their stories would make topnotch manga all of their own.
Incidentally, my avatar is lifted from this manga--one of the minor characters.
yeah pretty much peak shoujo
@MnDaiyna I’m sorry to say that the rest of the series is not allowed at Batoto, since the rest of the scans are not scanlations, but English scans of said manga.
It's gotta be my 5th time reading this manga. Hmmm love it though. I call it the bible of all school romance and friendships in the manga world =D

I hope someone will upload the rest of the chapters here because I recently I've come to realize how horrible other manga hosting sites are. I knew they were bad and all but I disregarded the facts until I read a very thought out and criticizing message from evil flowers scans and I feel guilty using other sites now except this one.

Please do upload them here =)
im currently reading the rest of this manga wherever i can, its such a good manga. like Daktyl198 said it represents romance at its best. even though there are REALLY REALLY DARK chapters its what helps set the mood for the rest of the manga. hell i've been crying for like 30 minutes from reading about 5 chapters.
Its a great manga that you can't go away from for long. While it IS quite long, its totally worth it. Only the first half (49 chapters) is posted while writing this but the rest can be found all over the place.
This, Hana Kimi, and Toradora! (anime) are examples of romance manga at it's best
It's sort of long and stretches out a bit in places, but this is a true modern classic. Probably my favourite romance manga. Also one of oh so few manga with a well thought out and executed ending and the 16-years-later epilogue is gold in pixels.

Only the first 49 chapters are posted while typing this, but it's been scanlated for ages and the second half shouldn't be that hard to find.
