Description: Himeko is an energetic, cheerful tomboy who has a catch-phrase to cheer herself up ("Ike, Ike, go, go, JUMP!"). Yet she somehow lacks the courage to tell the older boy at school that she has a crush on him. Perhaps she's just not feminine enough? Magically and mysteriously, Hime-chan meets someone who is the mirror image of herself, but she's a princess! Erika, from the Magic World, has come to give Hime-chan a present that she's invented, a magical ribbon, that will allow her to turn into the image of anyone else for one hour. This ought to help solve Hime-chan's problem, shouldn't it?

Even though this is made for middle-schoolers, all the characters are likable, the story is cute, and there are some moments that had me laughing out loud heartily. The romance is well done too. It feels natural and not over the top. Read this, laugh, and feel refreshed! You won't regret it!

There was also a remake, which I tried to read but gave up on. It didn't have the heart of the original, changed plot points for no reason, and felt like it was trying too hard to be "cool" for a newer generation. I guess there was a definite shift in what's considered 'good entertainment' for that age group over the years, and I'm sorry to say it's not for the better.

cute and innocent :D a kid's shoujo

Also - this is old school mahou shoujo. There is an anime adaptation that exists (I enjoyed it), but if I remember correctly it was based on this manga? (Somebody feel free to correct me if I mixed things up!)

Anyway, yes: it is indeed classic straightforward shoujo as well. A pleasant read overall.

This is a pretty solid straight forward classic shoujo manga.
I personally find all the characters very charming and acting their age after a volume's worth.

Not a single word on this... is it any good?
