I think that there are several possibilty of what happened if you ask me
the most likely is the girl did *it* with both the brothers
the second possibilty is that the lil bro knew that it was his big bro's baby and didn't want him to suffer
An unlikely one is that the baby was a mutant and didn't have the lil bro's gene so it came out black and the big bro thought it was his baby in the end
I also have two random theories i made
1. The lil bro is a *retard* who thought that a girl can get pregnant because he liked her (cause it was obvious in the story that he liked her, stupid brother didn't even notice he had a rival)
2. the girl got pregnant by a random dude that didn't even come in the story and both the brothers were tricked

Except it's not. The illustrator is obviously the same, but the author is Masanori Morita, th one who did Rokudenashi Blues or Rookies.

The irony... His whole life was full of nothing but misfortune, and only in his final moment did he finally get the last laugh...

Reading it again I think my theory is right. It seems the girl planned it so that they (her and her child) can survive and the little brother just followed her orders. The little brother seemed off and a frantic when he pulled a gun on his brother because he is forced to betray his brother so that they can survive. Earlier the girl did say to the little brother "it looks like we have no choice" meaning they already planned this in the event he failed.

Which one is the accurate translation? One says it looks just like me the other said it looks just like him. But I really hate stories like this when a characters whole world is turned upside down.

I am thinking another theory going with earlier translation. The girl only did it with the elder brother so the child is his but ever since he failed the mission of killing the Yakuza boss they knew he would be killed. When they were cornered led his brother to betray him by making up a lie that it was his baby so that he didn't have to suffer knowing he left his child fatherless and die peacfully. She kind of clearly hinted that it was his child when she told him she and the the child would be waiting for him even 10 or 20 years.
