i know it's been a year, but can you tell me what happened to his old students in NEO? from what i've gotten so far, it seems that kyoko isn't together with hiroshi anymore, and even has some kind of crush on nube? too bad i can't read japanese.
Oh, i didn't know that story about killed infants becoming Zashiki Warashi. This is why i like this manga.
I got raw for Nube's sequel. When I was skimming it, I think the future of his students looks so deppressing (just a few) including Nube's family life.
It's just the same format, even the same character's trait and pattern with adaptation to recent moe trend for the artwork.
Yeah, "subpar", sure.

It was a different time in Japan. Money/credit flowed a lot easier back then so (relatively speaking) subpar mangas were given a lot more chances.
I'm always surprised to see how many of these "old" manga get sequel series. Nube, Sakigake!! Otokojuku, Kinnikuman, Bobobo...
It has a lot less than the manga, I suppose (I'm following the oldest releases, so, just read 76 chapters). The "cases" occur in different order and sometimes with different circumstances. And there is some fillers episodes.

Remember watching the anime long ago...can anyone tell me how this differs? Like there are so many chapters so...probably much more content and stuff.

Every examples you gave has children as superpowered characters/protagonists and/or are victims of extreme circumstances with permanent scars, personality shifts and mental trauma to go with it.
In this manga, ordinary children actively seek out youkai 'for teh lulz', suffer lethal injuries and magically come out in the end ready to do it all over again..
