Fumi is a first year high school student who likes shoujo manga. Ever since meeting Haruma at the school's entrance ceremony, she's been harboring her yearning for him. However, there's competition in the class' group of good-looking guys, whom she wants to be able to talk to as well. By chance, she saved Haruma's childhood friend, Shino from a pinch. The two have been eating lunch together since then, and Fumi naturally started to talk with others in the group as well, including Haruma. Due to some trauma from middle school, Fumi had been keeping her distance from him. She wanted to be rid of the self-conscious Fumi who realized her feelings for Haruma. On a day when the three arranged to go out, Fumi waited at the meeting place and heard Shinosaying pestering words in order to kiss Haruma. And so Fumi, in shock... |

yeah yeah yeah, with a love like that, you know you should be glad
Well that was a total drama fest. The art was nice and Fumi at least had good acknowledgment of her faults, but this story hasn't impressed me thus far. It sort of feels like a story that was trying to seem more deep but pushed the pacing and drama so hard it kind of failed. Plus the characters themselves aren't really that likeable or engaging. Fumi's reason for liking the guy is essentially that he naturally acts cool, I know this isn't exactly odd for a typical shoujo, but for a story that wanted complicated relationships it seems like a bland reason to like someone. Shino is the needy drama queen who we're supposed to feel bad for because of her backstory but you end up forgetting about that because she seems so over the top you're left wondering about how it escalated so fast. Haruma the handsome sponge, who just soaks up other people's feelings and barely does anything. Lastly Yamato, the guy everyone wish got more time but ended up being relegated to the forgettable nice guy everyone is ignoring or betraying despite the fact they are supposed to be friends.
Well, yes and no. English speakers tend to leave out less, making it less reliant on context.
That's not particularly true. Japanese language is quite clear on which noun is the subject and which is the object. The vagueness you're thinking of is from partial sentences or phrases where meaning is implied. This is the same as in English, and you just need to guess which it is from context. For example, if someone was eating food fresh out of the oven on a summer day while an attractive person walked by and they said "hot!", you would have to guess which of the 3 things they were describing.
Well, glad to see I'm not the only one scratching their head at some parts of the translation... But, yeah, like others have said, I can still get a feel for what's happening and appreciate it. Of course, it's more that everything is giving me this nebulous IMPRESSION and has this weird, philosophical element to it precisely because I feel like I'm deciphering some existential text..................
"*reads page* ... *reads page again* ...I don't know what this means but I bet it's DEEP, man. Look at that facial expression! Poetic... I think."
Because this manga deserves all the love.
Well. I guess? If you're happy? Um. Yeah.
hasn't it been like three days or something?
I guess a lot can happen in 72 or so hours but damn
If the mc thinks cutting to the chase is what regular background characters do then main characters must already be at the credit roll
the translation is so confusing... o_o
The only character I really like is Azuma Yamato. My poor little baby. He is a hundred times better than Haruma. And I don't give a shit if Haruma had a dark past about his big brother,Azuma is his friend!
Cheating, betrayal thrown together...... Urggghh
I was wondering if I was the only one that wasn't completely understanding. I mean, I could figure it out but usually you don't have to figure out things in manga (besides mysteries, twists, etc.).
Yup, standard insecure so-called plain girl meets cool people. Only that this one could contain a lot of pain in the future. I mean, It's already very painful for me to read.
Shino...
Well. I was hoping I was wrong about that childhood friend, but in the end... That's too bad.
*sighs*
I can see those dreaded triangles and rectangles lurking nearby, ready to pounce upon the reader when
leastexpected.Well, no wonder you don't have any female friends...
well at least it's drawn decently
I'm sort of hoping she said that because she really didn't want to go and she thought Haruma wouldn't kiss her so she said "I'll go if you kiss me ('cause I know you won't kiss me)"............. is that too hopeful? *cries a river*
