Thing is, Japanese people in big city are kinda cold and tend to distance themselves from others, even neighbor, or at least that is how it was from my experiences. Unless you cause noises, smells, etc. that annoy them, they will never bother to check up on you.

Then again, this can also be avoiding invading into other's privacy.

The biggest issue for me is how she dealt with the landlord. I guess we're just meant to assume that she tricked them somehow (eg "X is my uncle/boyfriend/whatever, and I'm watching his place for a while"), or that the landlord just doesn't give a shit as long as the rent's on time. Either is plausible. Judging by the state of Satou's aunt's apartment, the building manager/landlord doesn't deal directly with tenants very often, and doesn't care much about what they do.

Every character has been screwed. Taiyou got tied up and repeatedly raped, Shio and Asahi have just had a completely awful time since the beginning (presumably Shio's life with her mom was better than Asahi's with their dad, but judging by her flashbacks, still seemed pretty terrible), and I don't even want to think about how Satou's childhood went.

Also, all Taiyou wants from Shio is her to pat his head and tell him it'll be okay, haven't you been paying attention?

I want a good end for gaylord-kun. Despite how unhealthy his obsession is, I get the impression that he wouldn't actually harm Shio, or anyone else. He's just a good boy who wants to eternally bask in the rejuvenating presence of his cute loli. A noble calling.
