You guys are young.
The cool types often don't age well--once they aren't 23 any more they start looking kind of dumb. We nice guys tend to make out pretty, ah, nicely in the end. Also because if you're nice but lack suave/flair, you can learn how to do that stuff. But if you've got moves but are basically a jerk, becoming a good person someone can spend some time with isn't really a learnable skill.
