I'll just say this, despite it showing chapter 93 and then chapter 99, there is no missing chapters. Whether its how they were uploaded to this site and the poor labeling by the scanlators (probably both) but theres only 124 actual chapters.

Yea since the mangaka was sick and was forced to end the manga in a way he was satisfied with. Hence the birth of this one.

Great to see Gunnm LO's end. It was pretty eventful but the end was a bit anticlimatic. I can't wait to see how the 3rd part of Gally's quest will turn out!

Just got the issue with the Final Phase in it today

What a dissapointment. The chapters 112 up. After reading 17 volumes of Alita the mangaka serves us something completely unrelated to what we read in all those volumes...

I don't care at all about what's happening down on Earth...i mean those event aren't second plan characters...

What about the female Kunztler back on Mars. That got me hooked up. Instead we get something totally unnecessary.

I'm not touching those...

Do you guys need/want better raws? I've got the mags for 122-126, and should have 127 and 128 by the end of the month.

3 chapters between now and the ending looks like they're totally gonna rush it. Well, sort of - I mean most of the big issues with the story are done, really, and once they get F4 and Gally together, that ties up the last big loose end.

I'm tempted to ask what happened to make the series stop so abruptly, but then I realized that Last Order has twice the chapters the first Gunnm series has. Hell, it still had more chapters than Gunnm PLUS Ashen Victor AND Another Stories put together. Hopefully it wasn't cancelled or anything - while I'm digging the return of Figure Four, the previous poster is sort of right in that this arc with him and Ido is kinda anticlimactic compared to all the craziness we've seen already.

This arc with Alita's boyfriend doesn't motivate me too much. I wanted to see Alita meet with her best friend. That's what I was interested in.

As counter-intuitive as it sounds, the manga isn't really about Alita. Its really about the shifts/changes/developments of the human race and humanity over a long period of time.

This is the case with Last Order, but I get the feeling complainers are still stuck in original GUNNM territory. The original manga WAS all about her. Personally, I like the direction taken by Last Order much better, though. She doesn't feel so OP or arrogant with all the new characters around, and the old characters get a lot more development this time around.

Figure, especially, now has an actual personality instead of being living prop / boyfriend placeholder. Kishiro is also doing a better job with Ido this time around with the personality rewrite. The original Ido was meant to be an utterly hypocritical being (he was a serial killer who satisfied his urges legally through bounty-hunting while playing the part of the good doctor publicly) but Kishiro changed him too abruptly early on into an idealistic life-saver. The Ido of the past simply couldn't have worked out as an anti-Nova, but this "cleansed" version might.

The title isn't Alita (well, not the original at least), and every work doesn't necessarily focus on just THE main character and nobody else.

Frankly I'm more pleased by the current events rather than the constant level-up of that tournament arc thing. It felt like the author didn't really know what to do with the character, with all those transfomashuns.

And come on, it's the SCRAPYARD! The basis of the setting! The Tatooine of GUNNM! And all those old characters, the dirty tech, everything! How can you not like that?
