While I don't mind taking some time to get the team together, my biggest concern is that as soon as they do get it together, it will be the last chapter. :\

Oh boy. It is.

Well with the axe aside... it was quite good run:)

yea, shame this got the ax. Was really rounding into something =( but glad it at least HAD an ending.

... That's it? I guess the ax was dropped.

It most likely got axed, 30 chapters of pure recruiting than nothing else, the author dragged his ass, especially when its a monthly thats 2 and a half years of the girls recruiting members, remember its a monthly the publisher was like wtf, lets put an end to it

...sooo... we'll never see the rivalry with that other girl from other school? ...shucks...

Aww i really wanted to see them run the Miyako Road TT but it was fun while it lasted. It was inspiring and even made me feel like running.

I kind of assumed it would be ending when Rio joined the team but it's still disappointing that it ended that way.

i guess... maybe axed?

Two and a half years in, and the payoff is Rio finally joining the team after having some kind of sudden, unexplained epiphany? I don't get it at all.
I had high hopes for this manga, and I guess I enjoyed the emotional roller coaster ride, but... ultimately, I'd say it was a disappointment, not least because it's ending as soon as the team gets together.
Sigh.

i think this set up is ok if it end with the sensei joining.. very cliche but also simple and touching.. i hope they make a short anime of this.. with the right music and a fluid animation on the running parts it can be a nice experience.

i can relate this to moshidora..  plot ? blehh.. animation ? uhhgg .... final chapters with the tearjerking rollercoast  = epic underestimate anime..

this manga with the right direction can be even better than moshidora .. XD

One leg per chapter...ugh...

Gun-Jou ended on July 25 in the Big Gangan magazine. The volume 5 (final volume) will be released on September 25.

Well that sucks, though I have to wonder if the manga was always planned to end after the game was formed? Two and half years is a looooong time spend on back story to unite the team together...infact if we already know the back story for all charactors before the team got together, it would be difficult to build tension later on, as most of it was already resolved before they got together. So the only drama would be actual training related.

I came into Gun-Jou thinking it would be about running, Ekiden, competition, overcoming loss, etc., and figured the team would come together in a few chapters... and it dragged out to 27. Uggggh.

While I like the series, that one aspect drove me nuts. And now I feel like I'm being trolled by the author and the publisher. "Hey, we got your team together, JUST IN TIME TO END THE SERIES.(LOL)"

So it did get a premature ending after all, good to know.

Looking at the volume cover, I would say this is a "cute girls doing cute things" manga. Then I saw the tragedy tag and now I'm not sure anymore O___o

Way too much "drama" and "cliche" but still good manga to read .

Anime adaptation when

No one would watch an anime that would end when most team sports animes would start....with the creation of a team.  It's like if Oceon Eleven ended soon as the team was formed and before the heist took place. We need atleast enough chapters to see the actual team training and competing in one race before they announce a anime.

I'm glad to see it continuing. Ch.25's title made me wonder if the last page was going to be one of those "The battle continues on from here! Thanks for reading and look forward to our next manga!" kind of things.

Awesome, thanks a lot Japanzai!!

Anime adaptation when

when the plot moves forward rather than doing constant flashbacks?
