It's a shame that this Guin Saga manga was only based on a side story within the Guin Saga Light novel series. I wish they've adapted the entirety of the novel series into manga form. I would of loved to read it, would've certaintly been one of my favorite mangas.

I actually don't know whether I would enjoy reading the absolutely preposterous amount of material that would be (Guin Saga holds some records for series length), but I have to admit I remain curious as to where and how in the 100+ novel run this devolves into proto-Yaoi.

The horrible thing about Guin Saga, though, is that even with 100+ novels the author never explained all of Guin's heavily-foreshadowed mysterious origins before she died.

the novel is gonna be translated starting from vol.6 here and they would like have some help in translating cuz you know its a lot of volumes, like 132+ volumes

Cool, thanks for posting this!

the anime was good,of course it depends on from person to person but to say its awful @Akio_NE you musnt have seen many anime there are some goods but most are realy bad compared to this one, int this case i think its worth to watch there some parts where its gets a bit confunsing and some parts of the fights impossible moves but lol its fiction so every counts and i doubt there is anime that doesnt have some flaws. And the the story line was very good cant say if it kept with the origal since only saw the anime

What I don't get from this is that the guy complained from the anime to the manga :o why did you search the manga just to say your meaningless opinion stop being a troll -_-

This isn't the side story this is the manga based on the early part of the story. The side story is called 'Guin Saga: The seven magi' although it doesn't seem to be in Batoto as usual.

Anyways is there any news about new chapters? or is it dropped?

The anime was awful. I didn’t like how the story jumped from past to present events. The characters were lacking. They felt shallow, and by the end of the whole thing I just did not care for them.

I had heard so many good things about this anime, but all of that shatter after halfway through the storyline. It was then, that I decided to look for the anime’s story origins. I found out that it was based on a light novel, and as mentioned by Bom Bom Hotdog, it’s one of the longest written works out there. From what I’ve read the author’s written works are pretty good. I guess the problem lied with the director of the anime, seems like he did not take the time to read through the actual light novels, and skimmed through them instead, I can see why it turn out so insipid…such a waste of time…
T_T I hope they continue past where the anime left off...
MOAR. This is awesome, please translate more.
Great art, interesting story = I want more. Hope it is being scanned actively. I tried watching the anime, but everything was too drawn out for me, and the story became weaker from what I watched.
Worlds longest written work by a single writer
the series has 130 volumes and has been in publication since 1979
Watch the anime for more epicness
hmmm.... its like a combination of Lords of the Ring/Sinbad of the 7 Seas/something..(forgot the title...)

Nice work.... more please... and thank you....
