Description: | The end of the civil war signaled the start of the industrial revolution in the United States and immigrants from all over the world traveled to find their American dream. But what awaited the majority of them was poverty, discrimination and hopelessness. Manhattan, New York was full of immigrants flooding through the ports and the 6th district, Five Points, was considered at the time, the world’s worst slum. The mobsters corrupted the entire area, including the police by paying them off; Five Points was the mob’s territory and they were the law. But even in Five Points, where there seemed to be nothing but robbery, prostitution and murder, showed some signs of hope. Luke Burns was a honest and righteous teenager who realized that the mob was the cause of the harsh lifestyle and that joining the mobsters would not bring him the American dream. But his older brother, Brad Burns, had become the assassin to the biggest mob group of Five Points, the Grave Diggers, a secret he kept from Luke for his own protection. Brad was known as the Grim Reaper and his reputation preceded him as a ruthless and skilled killer. |

how come for just didn't noticing some monthe I lost like half of the end of this series T_T (4 years that I forgot this great piece of work)
I hope something like that too, although the feeling I got, could have been
Cool story. It is not a masterpiece... but indeed it is a good manga.
Aww, I wanted it to last longer.
And then they all got cancer and died. The end.
The ending... So beautiful...
...and that's the story of the first Christmas.
Honestly great story and all but Brad died at the age of 69
I agree, it'd work well as a movie with little change.
And, it ended much as I thought it might, too. Wish it hadn't had to be as rushed as it was, though... there was scope for a couple more near scrapes.
Amazing series ending on a great note. A great depiction of the U.S in 19th century. Je vous lève mon chapeau monsieur, as they say !
Now there is a story I enjoyed.
Very awesome, a great story, thanks Happy Scans!!
Thanks for finishing this off HappyScans!
Good manga, but the only problem is what happen exactly to brad. We saw luke in the end, but brad's life was kind of left blank afterward
Fucking great series.
YESSIR!
They are Irish (Brad and Luke), Irish (green) blood
It's a great story and I love all of the characters, but there's one thing that's been bothering me... Why is it called "Green Blood"?
Here you see Samurai dressed up as Native Americans.
Seriously, though, I'd expect Japanese people at some level to have a feeling of sympathy for the native americans...Caught by a world that has advanced with technology past their experience, they chose naught but to charge forward like they're invincible. And, inevitably, they die. Because between oppression of foreign powers and warrior pride, what route is there left?
At least
i'm glad to see some of the Crimson Gang members go down quickly. Now King just needs to die horribly and it will all be good.
