I like the ending. The ambiguity of it, the permanence of the time loop. It was all worked together really nicely. Sure some of the characters were obviously meant to have a stronger purpose, but hey, what can you do?

If you think the ending is not enough, and you want more, read Utsuro no Hako to Zero no Maria at Baka-Tsuki (7 volume LN and fully translated). Beware, because it's a lot more well thought and developed than this manga's story, it became a lot more horrifying as well. Especially the final volume, it makes other tragedies seems small when being compared, because the final volume is just batsh*t insane.
Here is what I think will happen AFTER the ending of this manga :
Spoiler

>MFW reading this

Reminds me of the classic dating sim player playing his visual novel intensly.. only that he's stuck in a time loop if he doesn't complete a gal's timeline.

D:

No

I know it has a tragedy tag but no!

No no no!!

That's just sad!

I admit, it was actually really well done. I'd call that art. But horrifying. Like. . . I know they are all fictional characters and don't ACTUALLY have any feelings but I want to kidnap the author and force him/her to create a new, happy ending. Don't put her through that! I won't allow it! D:<

. . . is what it leaves me feeling. So congratulations author-san! I'm going to go see what else you wrote! But I don't want to touch it with a ten foot pole! But I might if it isn't horror. I don't want to see what kind of jacked up nasty things you'd come up with in a straight horror.

I also agree with you.

It's too much sad.

With infinite loop.It doesn't have conclusion, leading to a hallowed out feeling.

I want an concrete end.(It's labelled tragedy not horror so why is that poor girl has to suffer indefinitly)

I also want to kidnap the author and want to add another character who is also effected by Chihiro's loop and is retaining memories(as Kyousuke also retains memories when somebody else regrets) And that character ultimately can find the cause of death and solve it or break the loop.

The ending took the characters on the midnight train to the edge zone.

The hell? Literally no ending whatsoever.

What's the point.

What a shitty ending, forced grim-dark at its worst.

oh my...tragedy...

this series really hurts...even though it's nice. I really wished it could've had a happy ending, if only they talked.

*sigh*
When getting AXED is not enough...

One of those endings that...

*sigh*

Thank you for finishing the series though.

This end tore my heart apart... I hate the thought of Chihiro going through this loop over and over, it's just saddening :(

In short they (he) need(s) to enter a timeline where the final divergence value is 1.048596% with the both of them possessing the "Reading Steiner" they have a better chance at doing so..

it's easy, they only need to be a Mad Scientist to do that

it's certainly an end that I didn't expect but even so, it was amazing ... pretty sad and a truly bad end, but having seen the end of Stealth Symphony (insert other series crap end) some days, they could really have a worst ending :/

even so ... poor Chihiro, I hope the "True" loop will be the one were she confess in the first day and then they don't go to the last day of class (so they don't die or at least doesn't learn that another person die in that day)

PS= the tragedy tag is pretty effective in this one.

PS2= why didn't they make this the end

Yes.

Law of probability dictates that eventually one loop will work out due to one random factor or another. I'm not math major or anything, but by definition, eventually a good end may come to pass with the additional of more random phenomena. There were four girls, then additional of another (Otsuka). Think of these as additional instances added when there was originally just one (Chihiro). Assuming that the first loop was caused by Kyousuke to save Chihiro. The second loop began to save Kyousuke, and added another instance (Shiina) and another instance et cetera. Sooner or later there will be one instance of the loop where no one dies since Chihiro will ultimately be the one who will constantly be resetting the loop to find a "True End."

Or you know, I've just been playing too much Blazblue and suddenly I've become an expert on one variation of time loops.

Since Chihiro's regret is not how she believes that 'she wasn't able to save Kyousuke' but instead 'she wasn't able to confess to him', we can safely assume that there really are just two conditions to break free from the loop. 1) Kyousuke needs to clear the girls' regrets in his mini-loops and 2) Chihiro has to confess to Kyousuke (and he accepts).

I believe this to be a fitting end even if GreenDrag disagrees.

Kyousuke might not regret his school life, if Chihiro and him get together, thus '1' is not necessary.

And the other girls might get in the way of the two, risking the results of 2.

Now the quiestion, that I have is wether the price of the looping is someone involved in the loops dies, or someone out of a certain pool of people dies.

What I disagreed on with the guy was that he claimed, that if Chihiro tells Kyousuke, that he wil die, it will solve everything. However, he either kills himself out of regret, or kills himself to save the peeople that he cherishes, thus that would have done little good.

Oops, sorry. That was my face hitting the keyboard 3 times. I don't even know what to think about this.

Meh, infinite teenage girl time harem, could be worse

Sadly the manga was axed and then the author (probably furious) decided for not a bad end but the worst end.....no true conclusion.

Is clear like water it was axed because the mangaka just made the 2 characters for the SF club but they just appear.

Funny, is a manga about regrets and who made it and read it regret doing so.

They give us sweet heartwarm moments only to shatter it in seconds and hang everything. I 'love' you very much Chiida-sensei, I really do... :'>
