I have to say, though, the more I see of her situation, the more it seems that she's basically been thrown out in the world with almost no skills and no knowledge about what she should be doing. It feels like whoever was supposed to have been teaching her up until now really dropped the ball.

ugh spirited away... we spend 3 months studying that movie in my japanese class at one point... god i hate it so much now lol

That could be difficult.

It's a movie.  Specifically, one of the classics from Hayao Miyazaki and studio Ghibli.  It's sweet, fun and uplifting, well worth a watch.  The English dubbed version has some pretty decent voice acting, too, which is not something I say a whole lot.  It's one of Miyazaki's lighter movies, but beautifully done.

(Disclaimer:  I am a rabid Miyazaki fan who worships Spirited Away)
