Reikaaaaaaaaa

Spoiler

That's a reference to this movie. Maybe Gantz is an Arimura Kasumi fan.
I liked this new art style but the story and characters felt very low-effort. Probably wasn't meant to last very long. Thanks for your work anyway.

The issue I find with the reference to Biri Gal is that the movie was made in 2015 yet the GANTZ:G series revolves around the year 2005... A lot of fans in Japan noticed that too but it was never addressed... As one of the principle translators, this annoyed me to no end...

Don’t you mean “YEEEEEES!!!”?

To be honest, can we really call this an axed work? It actually feels complete, though a tad awkward with group dynamics. Some characters obviously didn't warrant much of our care, while others felt right and interesting. Either way, I liked it. It's not good, but it's exciting in its own right. I personally just like the idea of random peeps banding together to fight for an obscure cause, then having you care just a little about them despite what limited screentime they have. Somehow Oku Hiroya is able to pull off teasing audiences with minor characters of intriguing design and/or personality before then getting them killed off shortly after. That itself is exciting.

Besides that, many of them were much more interesting than Naiki ever was.

I'm glad this series finally got the axe. The art, characters and story was extremely bland and badly done even when you're not comparing it to the original.

Overall, the whole thing felt like it was just living off the original's popularity, was unneeded and felt like a wounded disfigured alien that needed to be put down.

Ending it here is the right choice, because there wasn't really much else you could do with this story.

That's the end. Hope you guys enjoyed it while it lasted...

Thank you for putting in the time to see Boobs: G through. ^_^

that was short lived

not surprised it got dropped. didn't live up to the original and the characters were so similar i could only really remember who the MC was.

There was a MC?

Suddenly, final chapter;

Wait what? Its over already?

Why are they trying to make it feel all happy? Most of these girls are going to die. Thats just how gantz is. Everyone dies.

Looks like it got axed with that ending.

I'm not surprised; the characters were cliched, there was too much teenage angst and not enough actual action.  The story did nothing to separate itself from the original or any other manga for that matter.

WAs this dumped in Japan?

Picking up the pace I see, good. Still, that mermaid monster was quite strong, wake up call boss so soon?

And Kaji is awesome.

Not exactly the same thing but Dio would be proud

The art is gettin better, but sometimes (action scenes) it's a bit hard to understand the drawings.

So far, its main flaw is that it's 'flavorless' (forgettable characters, simple plot that adds nothing to the Gantz lore), though I don't remember the original Gantz being exciting at the beginning (well, Kei's tits were great). Give it time, some stories start slow - look at how much it took to TG:re to gear up.

...and I still wonder why we don't get pinup-like pics of the female cast as chapter covers, Kaji has enormous (in more than one way) potential. Which is kinda funny considering she's the resident yankee and yet she's the most grounded of the main cast.

But really, this isn't really the beginning. We know all the gig behind the spheres and the like. As you said: this doesn't add anything.

And tokyo ghoul's story has an actual plot AND characters. Gantz has always been about senseless slaughter, with a thin veil that tried to pass as a story (and very inconsistent and dumb once you started analyzing it) with a bunch of cardboard cut-outs that got "character" after being soaked in blood. In so far, this series has gone and make me say "meh, next" more than any other series in my life.

Well sht this mermaid seems op.

Well shit this is Gantz

All girls now. Is the title Gantz:G because it's Gantz:Girl?
