Well now, I stumbled across something that leaves me kinda dumbfounded but also smiling. :'D

Spoiler

The following is me complaining about ecchi, basically:

Spoiler

Sorry, had to let out some steam. ^^; But overall, I did enjoy this a lot more than I thought and despite the problems it has, I just couldn't stop reading... So thank you for the scanlations and thank you random manga button. xD

Wow, that was honestly pretty bad after the halfway point. I shouldn't be surprised, however, considering the author loved Spider-Man 3 and Evangelion 3.0.

Final chapter page 43, my conclusion:

Peace is lewd.

I'm either too young or too old to appreciate the explicit yuri shoved down my throat for absolutely no reason after volumes of mild fanservice. Perhaps there are foreshadows leading to it that I missed, but the last few chapters feel like nothing but deus ex machina fes with plot expositions being shipped out way too early than it should be. I appreciate it when the author pokes fun of tropes like what he did in the sentai arc but then he proceeds to play it straight with cliches like 'We will fight together' or 'Somehow the supposedly useless party member managed to do something useful' or even 'I'm so evil that I won't turn down the heroes' challenge although we'll win by default if we did'.

I guess my dissatisfaction stemmed from the misleading start of the series which seemingly promises a classy fourth wall breaking parody of superheroes (with a dash of fanservice, because Japan) while the actual product turns out to be a trainwreck-in-making with the author pulling the plug halfway through.

This series is so great that the ending is just frustrating. Would've been better, but equally frustrating, if he just continues with the superhero of the week format and ends it abruptly. Maybe make the last superhero someone related to Yuri/Midori and just ends it in one chapter.

it's always nice to see that "yuri" pages in every chapter....i'm read this manga only for that picture alone OK!!!BAKA!!!

Funny how it did not leave me dissatisfied with the story, but dissatisfied with the masturbation material. It was just porny enough to arouse, but not enough to satisfy... Unsure how to feel about that one to be honest.....

So won't earth be a bit helpless now if other worlds with that power attack them? Though I guess the suits of that scientist hero did quite well too so they could mass produce them.

I'm forever going to be recommending this series to others as a lesbian schoolgirl version of Watchmen.

The author got pretty desperate with all this sudden fanservice and awkward yuri towards the end, but I guess it was ok.

Pretty good ride.  Had some roughness in places, but was dishing up enough obsessions I share that it's hard to complain.

Nothing will be able to fill the void this manga left me, for a while at least.

What a nice manga. I was honestly in despair when I saw how spaced out the first few chapters were, but then it picked up and updated faster and holy shit I love all this.

And President Man was never forgotten! Banzai!

Flame Bane is seriously the most radical motherfucker.

Dammit, I'm going to miss this one

Many thanks to Psylocke Scans for completing this, I swear you guys always pick up stuff I love :D

Any update in regards to the next series that Ogino Jun is going to work on?  No info on baka-updates.

That last page.

\(o_o)/

The author has said both in the magazine and in volume 5's afterword that the series was not canceled and he chose to end it.

I guess it's better that he ended it on his own rather than push it until he loses will to draw/write, forced to do it just because he has deadlines to meet.

Or turns into something droll and generic because editor told him to keep writing.

Flame Bane returns:

Spoiler

damn, its good until turn into yuri, yes i like yuri too but its lost the story somehow...

wow such fast update...

yuri x Mary...aww...

Kind of sad to know that it is ending soon.  Wished there were more volumes than 5.

"nano mugen"? does anyone know if this can in any way translate to (or be interpreted as) "avengers", because we all know that's what they are.

It looks like "Nano Mugen" is written in katakana in the raws (ナノムゲン), so you'd probably need a more fluent person to interpret this, but Nano could either literally be the loanword ナノ (same nano as nanometer or nanomachine) or 名の (possessive of name) and Mugen could be 無限/夢幻 (dream/fantasy) or 無間 (without duration, or infinite).

So I guess it could either be ナノ無間 for Nano Infinity, 名の夢幻 for Name's Fantasy/Fantasy of Name, or 名の無間 for Name's Infinity/Infinity of Name.

And this is why Bablefish/Google translation of Japanese names never works out.

If in the next chapter Flame Bane don't kill "Dr. Cell" I will be so disappointed...
