from all the love forced pentagon and really dumbs misunderstanding that I heard this series had ... I found it surprisingly funny and kind of interesting (Uehara is the more regular and interesting in the group of weirdos of the series).

the reason of beta-kun to reject the club is actually pretty reasonable, ch.2 is also very well done.

all the moments destroying tendou's selfconfidence, are awesome (she's the moe blob from the manga and she's doing a fine job at that)

the fight with hoshinomori ... well, it was pretty stupid, although it's understandable, 'cause she attacks the reason that beta-kun likes those game, he doesn't have anything about why she likes them, but she's against why he does, and that's a dick move. (it's up for bishounen but against moe, how dare she hahaha)

Well, aren't you guys fit each other?

I already PM him but still got no response.

If anyone interested to scanlation this, PM me. I have RAW for 2 volume of this manga.

If anyone has the raws for this and needs a translator, let me know!

the two male MCs look really different from the anime.

Anime has really cheap artstyle and designs because it's Pine Jam's first normal length series.

This seems more interesting after chapter 2, gotta check the LN mmm...

Truly, is not the enjoyment of hobbies a zero sum game?

Let us all vow to poop on golf courses and release wild dogs at marathons so that our mangos can taste so much sweeter!

The enjoyment of a hobby has its value determined subjectively, while in society the value of a hobby is determined objectively. So a game can be great for your own personal fulfillment, but the value of a game when looking at it objectively can only be measured as mental excercise unless you're good enough to make some money out of it (games have tournaments, dota2 had a prize pool of nearly 25m USD a few weeks ago for example, and there are also games like poker etc.). But I'd be willing to wager that the majority of all gamers in the world aren't good enough to actually make money out of it, so the objective value of it for the average Joe is just the mental excercise it provides, and the subjective value of it is the feeling of fulfillment.

But one can argue that philosophically there's nothing meaningless in the world. One can condemn the purpose, the action or the thought, but even if you condemn the meaning of it, it still doesn't mean it's meaningless. Because cause & effect is all around us and every action will have its consequence(s), even if we don't notice them. So I wouldn't really call the enjoyment of hobbies a zero sum game, because the enjoyment itself leads its own path forward, and to compare the cost of time or money or whatever to the enjoyment it brings is kind of mismatching.

For some reason, most animes that are adapted from manga/ln have artstyles that are somewhat/slightly off and end up looking really different compared to source, this makes me not want to watch cuz my eyes get irritated and cuz i already know what happens from source. Idk if its got something to do with easier animation but i do like it when animes try to go 100% following source art.

Teenagers...

>the super-popular school idol tries to get the MC to join her club
>MC doesn't give in and declines her invitation.

First chapter and I already like Amano. This manga is off to a good start!

What the fuck videogames do have to do with any of this, lel.

What is "wrong" with that depends on what games he's into, and apparently he's into trash.

You must be a fun person to hang around with

That's a lot of shit going on.

blue is distrust(疑惑)
pink is trust(信頼)
yellow is sleazy(ゲスい) (not sure about it)
green is hostile(敵意)
This all I can find.

Thanks for pulling that off. Though I have to say I'm very interested in when this diagram was published, because it does not in any way match the end of the vol1 teaser.

And he doesn't want to "improve his skills", he just want to have fun. Nothing wrong with that.

I like how everyone is praising the MMC because he was even more of a Beta-kun than usual.

"Nah, I'll just keep playing my shitty games as a means of escapism" - Great Victory!

How dare he just play games to enjoy them. He's a disgusting animal, using games for what they were originally conceived.

"shitty games" is just your opinion.

And he doesn't want to "improve his skills", he just want to have fun. Nothing wrong with that.

Other than this, he's quite lame and nondescript, typical self-insert character for the readership, I'll give you that.

That the school-idol would eventually fall for him is ludicrous. Every introvert-nolife-gamer's fap dream that has 0% chance of happening.

Anyway, this manga/LN doesn't seem to be about games at all, like Hi-score Girl.

But about forced love-pentagons and misunderstandings.

Is that what you read? Seems totally different from what i got from him.

He was more like "I enjoy playing casual, so training to be a pro gamer? sounds like a pain, nah, i will pass."

I really dont see how that makes him a beta.

The rest of his personality is another matter though.

SO YUM!! <3
