@cncn002 as to whether or not that happens a lot in historical manga I don't know but, considering how turbulent it was back then rape was more than likely very common. So it would be almost unnatural for the manga to not have it.

I always do enjoy periodic pieces. But interweaving mechas into 17th century Japan very naturally without compromising the spirit of old Japan? That's true manga art. But the lack of background context and the completely necessary boob-flashing of the female lead breaks the flow somewhat. Thankfully, the beautifully detailed battle sequences more than enough make up for these stumbles.
