... Coming here because watching the anime and thought it was decent, but found out that this manga is much weaker than it's anime counterpart...

I couldn't get past the fourth volume. The pacing seems awkward, but most bothersome was how grating the art style was. I just couldn't get comfortable with it. It seemed to have a large amount of dutch angles and jarringly assembled panels, which didn't help with the pacing of tension. Maybe worth trying again later.

Just started reading this - How connected the original manga to the anime? Yomi looks more demon-like and well, she "disappeared" in the anime  just after Kagura got the spirit. So I don't really get why she's here.

edit: Ahh, this explains why: http://vatoto.com/reader#1801ae8703a95d8e_13

- this series is a bit too dense. Each of the arc had enough stuff in it to make it a story in itself and was so different from one anther that they should be seperate to make it less convoluted and the continuous movement of one arc into the other makes it feel too quick and hard to retain.

-not rushed. the entire story was incredibly fast paced since the beginning just with less stuff to care about at the beginning. everything kept to its theme and the motivations were all explained so it was just a problem of maybe giving the story more room in the beginning to set the mood better to make it less dense.

Anyone looking to begin reading this, this comment is very much true. The first couple volumes aren't by any means great. I might even struggle to call them good. (Though I can't completely recall the 2nd volume). Plot doesn't revolve around the MC (who was really kinda boring to being with anyways), but it keeps him appropriately involved and he does develop well. The story does get progressively better and has a solid ending as well. I definitely recommend reading the entire manga, even if put off by the beginnin

Put off by the beginning? Hell with that! The second part pretty much fubar the story for me.

I disliked the anime, but someone mentioned that the manga is much better. So.. here I go.

Hmm.. the male protagonist is pretty much useless?

I've read 4 chapters. But I find this too boring. First I thought the guy was the MC but the way the story went sorta pushed him to the sidelines. And the story that did show itself didn't interest me at all. It has the feeling of having been done by numerous others. Maybe not exactly, but the overall feel is the same.

Reading the epilogue left a sorta warm fuzzy feeling for me, especially after the ending of the manga, which, reading the whole manga at once, was enough to make me cry. Definitely one of my favourites.

That just teaches you... Humans are the masters of their own destruction or salvation...

Depends on what the Humans do,they can either doom themselve by greed and hate.
Or they can save themselves by peace and love... (WOOT HIPPIES - still better than crazee religious fanatics...)
This was one of my favorites, but I lost track of it last summer. I read so many manga I tend to forget the names of the ones that don't update on a weekly basis.

Batoto's follow button is a GODSEND.
So...was that a William Wallace reference? :D
even though alot of people hate the ending frankly im happy that yomi is still semi alive cause shes like good person that was forced to evil
Good Read :) recommend it definitely
not hating on this but throughout the whole manga i thought it was going to have a much stronger resolution on the "romance" part but it seemed kinda easy going rather.

but realllllly good!! :D
crapie manga it got really boring really fast
this is such a good manga. it made me feel like crying at the end from how happy it made me but i've been crying from other good mangas lately idk if i'll be able to cry again >.<
a good choice
