[Ch 20]

Don't know what the MC expected from reading his friend's mind but he really did run into that one.

Can someone just tell me how this ends? Just spoil it for me. The manga finished 2 years ago and all of the raws are available online but the translation is very slow.

From a spoiler I read, apparently:

(Well with that said, guess this is my last comment on Batoto. It was a good website to find manga to read while it lasted.)

this story is going everywhere, what even is going on anymore?

What the actual fuck? What did he mean by that? Literally NANI?!
Lol what a cuck.

So his crush liked him back and he literally threw her in his friend's arms. Painful. Now all that's left is discover what happened when they were going out (I suspect friend broke up with girl because he wanted her to be with MC) and then proceed towards the predictable ending.

Thank you, waterflame - I'm very grateful for this lovely Christmas gift.

That doesn't mean anything though.

Thank you for the insight. Some posts hit the bull's eye, but this one hit the ant crawling across the bull's eye. (^_~) I'm glad I came back to the comments, despite my deep fear of spoil trolls still lurking about. ^_^

My default for gecko endings and love triangles where the right person loses for the wrong reasons is dislike, disgust, and/or hate. Even so, one of my favorite stories is 101% guilty of both. (Also some of the plot points are outright idiotic, and cliches/fanservice are so brazen that you'll sprain your eyeballs.)

Yet even with all those grave flaws... the series ending (NOT the OVA, which is @$$ cancer) is just too perfectly bittersweet. And the two main seiyuu are mind-blowingly good at evoking emotion.

spoiler: the name of the series, which is from 2006

Tropes are important, just like paint is important to a painting. But the most important thing is what the artist does with it/them.

But seriously

I hope this shitshow ends nicely. I want the main girl to be happy and the MC and his friends to suffer more

I'm kinda confused at the last panel, is it supposed to be in past or present tense? We're or we were?

I'm thinking past.

*cough* Let me touch you *cough*

"Sure thing, just let me get these shorts off first..." :-D

".. as a friend"

HAHAHAHAHA

JUST WTF HAPPEN THERE MAN?!
AND SHE ALSO SAID ITS BEEN A LONG TIME, WTF IS HAPPENING?!
DONT TELL ME SHE ACTUALLY WAS IN LOVE WITH THE MC BEFORE WITH SHIRASE?!

Spoiler

>MC holds her

>Learns that he is just a second option

It will be just like that infamous Naruto chapter where Sakura confesses isn't it?

It's happening, isn't it.

OH BOY

no, we are gettin jebaited

It's happening, isn't it.

OH BOY

Why did you note down that it's 30 degrees Celsius? I mean like 90+% of the world population use Celsius, and noone would assume that 30 degrees Fahrenheit or Kelvin would be out there on a summers day anyway.

Btw, if you really want to be 100% international, why not use Kelvin instead?

Everyone on this earth should at least have some knowledge about the scientific temperature scale, as schools nowadays try to teach the children to use degrees Kelvin in scientific subjects.

Also, who the heck doesn't know Mecha Godzillas Absolute Zero Cannon?

Can't be a fan of Japanese pop culture for sure if one doesn't know :(

Just gonna drop this oldie right here...

Is he becoming a masochistic pervert?

Chapter 17.5, page 4 the words on left panel are actually "It's a joke" - "ittsa" in katakana, "jouku" in hiragana.

This is a reasonable point.  It is the basic impulse behind the quite important 20th century movement towards innovations in fiction-writing; some (mostly academic) writers felt that linear narrative and a whole bunch of other naturalistic assumptions were stale, a trap cutting off creativity, and they tried to write stuff without any of that baggage.  The result:  A bunch of stuff very interesting in concept which nobody would ever read unless they had to for their English degree.  I know, I have an English degree.

Some endings are just more fundamentally emotionally satisfying than others.  So, they get used more.  And there are only a few possible outcomes anyway, so just using the less-satisfying ones more wouldn't help that much on the originality front.

As they used to say on rec.arts.books,  "Life is too short for Finnegans Wake."

Well, that ending is expected from the beginning.

The cover of vol 4 here is a spoiler in itself.

What's important is the journey, not the destination.

Like the people before me said, you guys should seriously stop talking like the manga has nothing aside from its ending.
Also, saying it's cliched is like saying right-to-left ordering is cliched. Of course it is, but it doesn't mean it's bad.
Actually, in my experience, the best stuff is not really innovative, instead, they take what was already in the field and refine it to perfection. For example, Nanoha has been doing dark magical girls for seasons before Madoka, and Mai-Hime did essentially the same thing years before. Nothing in Steins;Gate by itself is new either: backyard inventors, evil corporations, time travel, the freaking groundhog loop is named after an old-ass film; but we remember it because it's great as a whole, using all the same instruments, they managed to craft an engaging story with characters the audience generally feels for.

Just according to keikaku

Oh shit. He's going to find out that he's into his junk.
