I feel like the ending is a bit abrupt, but overall it was a pretty enjoyable read. Cute, uncomplicated. A refreshing take, as so many romance manga these days have to take the "complications, misunderstandings, and rivals abound!" kind of route. Rather, it was a slow and steady view into the blossoming relationship of two youth's mutual feelings. Truly, a slice of life, if I've ever seen one. I admit this kind of thing isn't for everybody. It's my understanding the slice of life genre isn't well liked, but it's always been a favorite of mine. I like to have an soothing, easy read every one in a while, and this is certainly that.

A great manga.

i will just put this comment to say that this manga is worth the read for anyone that has a doub just read it

Last year I found a 18+ doujin of this manga. The art makes me think it was made by the same author. So there, you have you good ending. :)

This was such a sweet manga. I'm just sad it had to end. I feel I have to say goodbye to good friends.

Wonderful from start to finish. It did pretty much everything right.

Did really the author waste 6 pages, that could've potentially give us a look at their future together after graduating from Highschool, drawing cats and backgrounds....!? Why, God, why...............!?
Well, anyways, it was a pretty nice story~
Thanks to PROzess for start it and a lot of thanks to TallGirlTranslations for pick it up halfway and translate it till the end!!

The same here!
It's perfect, complex on its own, hypnotisant.

It was a nice trip

Aaaaaahhh this series is so good. I'm just sad it ended.

I think the mangaka were highlighting the places from early chapters. It fits with the "nostalgia feeling" of the last chapter. It showed, in a nice subtle way, the contrast between their relationship now and back then.

Personally, i like it better this way rather than the overused "graduation day" or "glimpse at the future".

NO ITS OVERRRRR I'm gonna miss seeing fujiyama and kanba do silly things together. honestly a lot of people forget what "love" was like when you're younger. it really is that simple at times, and this manga does a good job of making one feel nostalgic. they had a lot of scenes where I thought "ah, I wish I could get along with someone like that now!". but I mean they're still kids. how far along did everyone think they'd progress? I wish I could see more, but this manga did a good job of capturing that feeling of adolescence.

as a warning to anyone else in the future - lol don't go through the comments section..

so many debbie downers

i mean if you don't like a manga, ok fine you can share your opinion. but like, be civil about it lol. you can not like a manga but it doesn't mean the manga's bad. you just don't like it. not your cup of tea.

(although there are some, imo, clearly bad manga out there. namely those stupid shoujos that glorify abusive relationships. why u do this, mangakas?? p.s., take this with a grain of salt lol)

Their life still continues. Yeah, it does.  But we actually haven't seen any development. This manga is about nothing, it's more like technological demo done by graphic engine producer to show its possibilities - artist is simply showing good art and thats all. Surely it is not about adolescence like some people claim nor love problems. At most it is another slice of life. I kinda liked this piece of work, I'm angry because of potential wasted. &*(&(*&)

Also I'm pissed seeing ending like this again and again!

disagree. there has been development. yes, slow development - but it's not like this manga spans a decade. it's just a year? two years? whatever. a little snapshot of these two very young teenagers growing together. kanba in the beginning was just another bratty boy for the most part and at the end of it, he's grown up as an adult in his own little way as he learns to love someone and then he's even brave enough to want to show it to others.

was it very slice-of-life-y? yeah.. but that's a genre, and some people like that genre, and you can hardly fault a manga for its genre. and was it a story about adolescence? well.. it was for me. and i would say for most, if not all, of this manga's fans.

The irony of this manga Its first upload is on October End on October 3 years worth of reading Ending kinda ok ish, feel like some anime ending Thanks to scanlator and uploader for all these years of hardwork!

It doesn't change fact that this manga has no real conclusion.

And where would you like it to end? Life only has one conclusion and that's not usually a warm fuzzy one.

This my friends, it's a 10/10 manga.

I loved following this story from the day the first chapter got uploaded.

The art was great, the story was pleasant, but the best thing was how the author captured the romantic innocence of teenagers growing up, both physically and emotionally. I feel it was very accurate, which is why the story had a great impact on me.

And the ending was perfect. No need for a wedding or any of that stuff to close out a story. Unnecessary.

The greatest stories are often where the characters are the important part of the story. Not the plot nor the art, which was both great. The characters are what built this story.

I'm not exactly sure where I'm going with this. I'm just overjoyed but also sad now that everything has ended. Thanks for the good work TallGirlTranslations!

Think of it like this. We're looking at only a part of the characters' life, slowly moving. Even when the manga ended, their life will still continue. You don't know what happens in the future, but you can imagine it.

QUOTE:

So how did you spend that 70 years? In your parents' basement?

This isn't even a coming of age story because no one comes of age, either physically or psychologically. In the first chapter a guy "accidentally" asks a girl out, and in the last chapter he tells her he loves her. The time span between these two events was no more than two years.

During these two years literally nothing happened: no obstacles to overcome, no IRL issues to deal with, no conflicts with anything or anyone. No one has to grow up as a result. Even their relationship, the central plot point of this manga, was not challenged in any way(!).

Just because it's about two teens doesn't automatically make it a coming of age story, mr. professional, sir.

What it is is an overall mediocre romcom/slice of life story with occasional dips in art quality.

END QUOTE.

My sincere apologies for the fact that my being a professional offends you so much. That was not my intention. I was simply giving a reason for why my interpretation of/reaction to the manga may be a bit different from some of the other posters here. As for the remainder of your comments...

"the time when a person becomes an adult," "the attainment of prominence, respectability, recognition, or maturity" --Merriam-Webster

"the moment when a person or thing reaches an important stage of development" --Farlex Free Dictionary

Hopefully, the above may offer some insight into my reason for the wording of the original post... (I copied these off the wall in my parents' basement. Sorry for any mistakes...it was dark down there...)

I can't seem to get the quote thing to work properly, so sorry for the double post. Could a MOD please delete the second post above?

I have no words

this is perfect
