Mutsuki reminds me so much of Ayame, how does Yuki cope LOL.

I know this was moving very slow, but I assumed there were enough rabid Fruits Basket fans that this wouldn't get dropped...

For anyone who's confused:

In chapter 7.1, Riku wasn't telling Mitoma that HE, but the other girl with short hair (her name's Amane, see chap.7.2) wanted to have lunch with Mitoma since she always seemed depressed. Riku happened to overhear the girl talking to her friend about how difficult it was to ask Mitoma, so he was irritated when he saw the usually lonely Mitoma suddenly have lunch with a bunch of strangers rather than with her classmates.

In the Chinese scans, Riku was saying "There's always been someone in your class who wanted to eat lunch with you" , and since "someone" is often used to refer to the speaker themselves in an obscure way (like using third-person), this might've led to some confusion.

Yes, RainBoots' version has some errors like that, here and there. The surprising part is that they say that they use YukariScans translation as a base and they just upscale it, but YukariScans has it well translated.

Given that, I recommend using YukariScans for now till we can be sure that RainBoots won't make more errors that change the reading comprenhension , even if the resolution is lower.

Was the short-haired girl at the beginning a Sohma/Souma too? I took a quick look at ch. 7.1 again and I think I saw her (now) talking to the Sohma/Souma who appeared to want to eat with Sawa (which turned out to be not exactly true because it's that girl who wanted to eat with Sawa, right?). I'm so confused.

... I need a character chart, so many Sohmas @.@

Sora is basically the personification of Rin if she hadn't had such a fucked-up early life. I like how each of the main series' kids is more of how they would have been if their early lives didn't suck so much.

 

Wonder how Shigure and Akira's kid(s?) turned out. Probably kinda scary.

Super-interesting to see Tohru's lasting influence on the Sohma family.  I can't imagine any of the Sohmas from Fruuba being as open and friendly as Sora and Mutsuki are in this latest chapter, even at the end of the series.

I like the part where she thought "she's definitely a Sohma" about Sora. I wonder what kind of image the "Sohmas" have on Sawa's mind lol

Okay, now I love Riku. I ship it.

My suspicion is that if she's not related to the sohmas directly, she's maybe a distant cousin of Machi (Yuki's wife)  The MC is like the anti-Tohru...I just kinda wish the author wold get into the meat of the story of how the sohmas know her.
 
I also find it a bit hilarious that Kyo's son is the President of the student council while Yuki's son with the glowing aura is the VP.  A person would think that Tohru's son might be a little more...perky(? and just a little less like his dad)  I think Yuki's son seems a little more balanced.

I don't know, but I am shooting in the dark and guessing that shiki is akito and shigure's kid since musuki is calling on the cell to Shiki; sorta to report. (I made an early guess that Musuki was Yuki's son because for some reason that name reminded me of the mouse...)

lol XD I had a total fangirl moment when Riku was introduced, loved his dad the most from the first series.

No no no no, are we forgetting how Fruuba ended?  Its pretty clear that Kyo and Tohru ended up together therefore Tohru couldn't have some random child out there. 

 

It is good to confirm Mutsuki's parentage though.

Speculation here... Considering her mother isn't here, I think one major problem that the MC is going to have to deal with is her mother coming back. It's all well and good if she's able to become kinda "normal" while at school and actually make a friend or two, but that's all gonna go down the drain once her mother comes back. Wouldn't surprise me if Mom does something to the MC so that she can't go to the school for a while (whether physical or psychological)...but that's based on things I've personally seen and not the Fruits Basket Universe.

I'm entitled to have any feelings I want about a fictional character, even if they have anxiety. So please try not to project my personal feelings about a charcter as if I'm personally attacking real people suffering from depression and anxiety. I'll do as I please, thank you.

Is her case sad, yes. Does it make for an enjoyable read, not in my opinion. You are free as free to enjoy it as I am free to find it annoying.

What I would like to say is; anxiety stems from childhood takes longer time to heal (or it might not healed in their lifetime), this MC probably would take some time to recover, I think, if the mangaka keeps this pace.
