So at the end, Kano:

Spoiler

It's annoying because the last few chapters give evidence to all scenarios. It was probably meant to be an open ending anyway. I hate those.

The story was very good, however; the, gritty, corrupted atmosphere feels realistic and impacting, and the author's rough art style complements it well. It could have easily been a very pretentious work, judging from the premise; but the subject matter is well-handled and the delivery is never forceful or overdone.

I feel like Kano's story doesn't get proper closure, but that was likely the author's intention. No character is given overt focus or long-winded exposition, but as you get to know them along the story, you can kind of imagine what they'll be up to later. Kano's specific case ticked me off, but it does stay in tone with the rest of the manga. Nonetheless, I think the author dropped the ball with the ending.

I'm pretty sure he's alive because he's sitting on the same chair as he did in the beginning. That's pretty much a hint he hasn't become the hallucination and isn't talking to another crazy guy like him or the reader. I'd rather say he talks to Tanaka.

My theory on the ending is a bit different.

so... in the end... did he live or die??? anyone care to answer me?

Damn, I want to talk to guy who wrote this :D

Holy shit I read this when I was young and didn't really get it, but it was bad ass and a mindfuck. Just re-read the whole thing today and man it was fucking crazy, but it makes a whole lot of sense now to be honest. This is a masterpiece.. I really want to read more stuff like this that's psychological, sci-fi with a great MC. I loved it. Kano is godlike.

Reading this insane manga made by some freaking insane japanese guy with his insane story line and insane characters and insane fan service slowly turn me mad as hell. So is there more stuff like this and where can i get it?

...maybe yes, maybe no...one thing for sure is that the one who Kano-like talking to is someone who might have the same insanity as Kano's (since, IIRC, he never shape-shifted to the one he talk to)

I believe that Kano talked to the reader, breaking the 4th wall on purpose. The last image looks like it's from the perspective of someone sitting directly opposite of him, just like his hallucinations from before, yet its drawn in a way that looks like he's staring into the readers eyes. Either he's gone so mad that his own delusional world became a reality which basicly made him became omnipotent, and that explains how he survived that ending, and why he's talking to the reader (he exists in the story because you read the story. If you wouldn't read this manga you wouldn't know about him, thus he wouldn't "exist" (for you, atleast) i think this explains the end, but its just my 2 cents.), or he somehow achieved self awareness through his dementia. Just think about it for a moment. Why does he state what he states at the end? It's like he basicly introduces himself and his ideas, his opinion on things. Just like you would if you met someone interesting, or someone who you want to "keep" as an acquaintance (or as a hallucination, for that matter).

...so who is the person(?) who change shape to anyone else Kano knows??

Just tried to read this but the MC is waay to crazy to my taste :s

Absolutely amazing.  It's like watching Donnie Darko for the first time.  You love it, even if you have no idea what the f%&$ just happened.
