Has there been any update regarding the author's condition?

sadly, yesterday she passed away.

Has there been any update regarding the author's condition?

My friend just had just shown me the translation for this author's (ssamba) letter from tumblr. Apparently the author is actually dealing with intestine cancer, and the doctor said it's incurable (deathflag). So the author is actually preparing for a chemotherapy treatment and the author can't guarantee to be able to continue this webtoon. Let us just hope for the best for ssamba, I really wish that she would be cured but even if in the end she didn't get cured then I hope at least it won't be a painful death :(

Dangit, looks like its still on hiatus for health reasons. Here's the best google translate could do with the author's post:

Officer : hagieneun current jakganim series continues judged to be the normal stress on health deurigiro decided to rest for the time being . And the origin of kwaeyu jakganim , ask your readers a lot of support.

Still, better a short delay now than a long or infinite delay. (I'm thinking of you iris zero)

Apparently we weren't the only ones not clear on whether or not webtoon was yuri, the author got enough questions about it that he clarified in one of his Q&A's. (Its yuri)

Also, I can't read it but I think this page says the webtoon will be coming off its break on 4/11. (PRAISE THE SUN!)

i love scrolling down to 10 different arguments in the comment section, thanks guys

Touchy, Touchy. :P

You really think that? Or is that really just your way of  being defensive and trying to shift the blame in the face of someone coming right back at you with the same confrontational, dismissive tone that you employed with them?

I'm betting on the latter, and I'm also betting that you're well aware of it.

:)

Yup, deliberate in your case, absolutely.

Touchy, Touchy. :P

We shall see.

Again, almost 2,000 Korean manhwa on the MU site, only 3 of them list shoujo ai as a category, and only 1 list yuri.

It's just a far greater social taboo than it is in Japanese culture.

And yet, individuals still write what they individually write, and times change.  Yuri was a way bigger taboo in North American and Japanese culture 20 or 30 years ago.  Up until last year I'd never seen Chinese yuri, but now we have a couple including one instant classic.

I think you're concentrating on the general case and ignoring what's pretty plainly going on in the individual text.

PS: Ending sentences (that don't warrant it by their content) with image smileys tends to be obnoxious. Not always of course but just based on the comments on this case your smiley usage falls in that category. I'm just mentioning it in case you aren't aware, if it's deliberate that is fine.)

Thanks I just followed bato so there that many released already out.

for newest chapters translated. raw comes on sunday and imgur comes on monday.

It makes perfect sense to me because I'm pointedly holding myself back from succumbing to any preconceived notions about what's going to happen/happening.

I'm waiting for the story to come to me.....instead of the other way around.

To me, you seem to be failing in that regard....and rather badly at that   :)

Spoiler chapter 57.

Well, again, I simply disagree with you (as well).

I firmly believe that all the author is trying to present is two female characters, neither of which has had any luck with close friendship with their own gender, cautiously approaching just that.......close female friendship...... and that a good portion of the people here are jumping at the shadow of a lesbian pairing based on their own cultural point of view and the bias/predisposition created by reading a bunch of Japanese yuri works (which should be completely thrown out the window when it comes to the Korean works)   :)

I mean, just take your own post as an example.... "familiarity with any type of romance story"........you don't see how you're projecting your experiences on this story without thinking this all the way through? When's the last time you read a Korean story with a lesbian pairing?

How does this story even make sense when read as "close friendship"? (It doesn't.) And we are still talking about the story the author described as "yuri youth romance", right? But if you want to read it that way, well its not like it particularly matters to me so no point in discussing it. Though you should really look at yourself before thinking others are viewing a story through a biased lens.

Other than our experience with the Japanese shoujo ai/yuri titles, I really see no reason to view what's in this title as anything more than friendship.....and I seriously doubt it'll turn out to be anything more.

? Familarity with any type of romance story and their common plotlines and tropes will tell you they are interested in each other, I highly doubt the author isn't well aware of it. Of course that doesn't mean anything happens (not going through with a homosexual pairing isn't uncommon) but the reason won't be that people misinterpreted the blatant signs. (though honestly they are at the "LI from the past interrapts confession to pad the plot" stage of course they will end up as couple.) Saying"no reason" is just silly.

Gah I'm all caught up to 53 now... after bingeing on it all day. Seol-a, fighting! I want our girls to be happy (TーT)

We don't talk of that site... expecially when the link i gave has the 53rd chapter and yours doesn't >.<

Speaking of that site...

MWAHAHAHA~!

Yea, author is from the west.

It's cute though.  It has that amateurish feeling you tend to get from webtoons and manga-esque things that aren't Korean or Japanese, but it's got lots of heart--purest of pure innocent vanilla and heartfelt love.

Pfft!

Geez, lighten up a little  :D
