Here another theory: the cat is the god of the labyrinth and, since it's a cat, likes to play with the visitants.

Glorious. I'm glad someone picked this up.
mmmm....after reading it, I felt a little sad but I'd like to think of it in a couple other ways. One is that this cat is an urban legend that is passed between children and the cat was actually owned by someone who lived in the apartment for a long time. Another theory could be that the cat is just a stray who has a family of it's own. What happens beyond the written storyline is up to the readers =)
