Feng Shen Ji

Started re-read today... This is still beautiful and refreshing manga. Glad i started to read it again.

The author is working on a new manhua now, "Journey to the West" and a group just picked it up.

According to EGS, they would need someone to clean up the raws before even considering taking on the title. Just looked over the raws and it's weird seeing a Tom Cruise version of Zhen Chan. The art is still top notch.

i really hope they find someone, feng shen ji was amazing and i've never read but always been curious about journey to the west so i would love to read this.

I...I...finished it. After weeks of dragging it out just so I could savor the epicness of it all, is finally done. It is 2 AM and I have a class at 9. I haven't even done my homework and report yet that is due today. I am so dead. Oh well, sleep is for the weak anyway lol. The story is so epic and the art is just...damn. Will be in my best manga of all time list forever. It will occupy my dreams for days. Thank you very much EGS

The latest update to Feng Shen Ji Season 3 was in May of 2014. There is no season 4 yet. As of the moment, the author has completed one more novel since Season 3, and is on the 40th chapter in his current story.... Which makes it 30+ pages in color chapters a week... which makes him the greatest comic writer... ever... in my eyes.

 

His current work is name Journey West though... which can tie into the story of Zhen Chan. Zhen Chan's westbound journey is an allusion to a very famous Chinese Epic named Journey to the West. Perhaps his idea of a sequel would just be expanding on each of their individual endings as jwang mentioned. (I must say though, I'm having surprisingly little trouble imagining Lan Yue as Sun Wu Kong. I think it's because the Japanese name would be Son Goku =P)

There is a teaser of possibility of 4th season at the end, but I'm not sure if I want it to continue since it got an already perfect ending imo. 

 

It's not likely that there will be a 4th season. This whole series is a creation story, the "true" story of Chinese mythology. All members of the main cast becomes either various territorial gods, members of the underworld/hell, Buddha and his disciples, and other members of Chinese mythology. All in all, an excellent reinterpretation of the Chinese creation myth. That last panel seems to be one of Nezha, one of the biggest ass kickers in Chinese mythology. Granted how everything is shifted around, it's entirely possible that Nezha's story will also be altered here.

I usually hate those "this isn't over, our journey starts NOW!!" endings... but man, this was perfect for such an awesome series. Pure badassery until the last page.

The title "The Greatest Swordsman under the Heaven" just brings shivers to my spine.

This epic story finally comes to its end, and managed to do it in a very satisfying way.

All those years reading this awesome saga , through the 3 volumes it took for it to unfold and never managed to find a single chapter of the story i didn't liked.

The characters were great, from the main ones to the most sidelined guys, they were all interesting, so much that so many of them could have had their own serie.

Feng Shen Ji joined the small list of my " all time favorite series". It is a masterpiece of epic and bigger than life things, with such excellent and dynamic artwork.

Greatness from the start to the end.
And thanks to Easy Going Scans for such good quality translation work that did justice to one of the best serie.

Moral of the story, Tian is the strongest and we only go on because he allows it.

I want a sequel about Fei Feng's story.  She seems interesting.
