Sorry, what is UBW?

Unlimited blade works

Gah. Don't think I'll finish reading this.

To clarify, first I want to say thanks for the translation, Assassin Scans, I really appreciate the work you're putting into this. Its really well-done. I have no complaints about the manga when it comes to ease of reading, thanks to you.

The main reason I'm calling it quits on this manga is the poor flip-flop between the UBW and Fate routes. While the expressiveness of the characters and the dialog are both fine, and in some places quite enjoyable, the mix-and-match of scenes from the two different stories, along with new inserts, has made this feel unfocused when compared to its source material. The power of the original arcs was their focus on certain characters, and expounding development on their character and personality. By attempting to mix the two, the characters involved aren't given the attentiveness that their developments deserve.

And I'm not going to pretend that I wasn't disappointed by the move from UBW to Fate. UBW was one of my favorite stories of all time, while Fate always left me with a bad taste in my mouth somehow. There's plenty of Fate material out there, namely the entire anime series, so I feel a touch bit cheated to be offered a chance at seeing another route in print, only to have it jump back on the Fate bandwagon once again.

So while I'm not a huge fan of the story, I don't want to knock it too badly for those who are enjoying it. It's just not my cup of tea. Thanks again, Assassin Scans, I'm thankful for the opportunity to give this a read-through. There're plenty of people I know who really enjoy this adaptation, and you're doing a great job of it. I'll be glad to see your name on the groups list in the future, and wish you luck with the rest of this project.

Sorry, what is UBW?

I still think Emiya Kiritsugu was a great person.

Even if he didn't think it necessary to explain anything to a transient existence like Saber, he still made the right choice in rejecting the corrupted grail. I don't think many people realised that in the aftermath of Fate/Zero, he actually created a mana fissure that ensured the entire Grail system would collapse in 30 years IIRC.

If anything, he had underestimated that only 10 years worth of accumulated mana was used in the destruction following the final fight and that the next war would be in that time. This is why I enjoyed Tiger Colosseum and Battle Moon Wars where Kiritsugu was able to meet Shiro once again after Shiro had discovered everything about his true past.

This is getting worse for them.

Also remember that caster was in a class of her

own when it came to magic.

Spoiler

For crying out laud!! They've resurrected Caster just to kill her at the Archer's hand... Why would Kotomine even do it? To make Archer look more badass? Bitch, please! He is Gilgamesh!

One word: LAME!!!!!!

Probably "sister" since Illya is Kiritsugu's daughter.

none blood sister

(too bad they remove her arc from the novel...)

Nnngh this looks like the beginning of caster's arc from fate. Kinda messed up due to caster's previus arc from unlimited blade works.

I don't think i'll like this, but at least is going to be very short.

Shiro: Illya has always been my ...

My ..... what? What is he trying to say here?

Probably "sister" since Illya is Kiritsugu's daughter.

Page 5 "It didn't take long for the renowed knights to leave the king" I think this should be singular "Renowed Knight" or maybe around the lines of "the most famous knight".

This entire chapter is a direct reference to Malory's "Le Morte d'Arthur" and the event depicted here should be Lancelot leaving Arthur's court.

Hmm, it seems you are right. I had my friend check the original scans, and there it's singular whilst in the scans we translate from it was plural. I am very sorry for it being incorrect, of course the correction will be uploaded soon. Thanks for helping by pointing it out.

wasn't this supposed to follow rin's route why is it foing saber's route?

I think Manga adaptation is a mix of all routes, or atleast UBW and Saber's

fate stay night was one of the most epic seres i watched/read/played in middle/highschool.

i think this manga captures well the epicness and the enotions of the scenes, what it does no capture well is Emiya's feelings.  You dont really get all the emotions he feels as you do when you play the game.  Though i always enjoy more Ilya.

So epic:

Spoiler

I entrust this loli to you!

Most likely "sister" (an acquired one of sort) look back at chapter 52

Yeah, he certainly meant to say sister. His thought was cut off there, but it's only logical answer since she's Kiritsugu's daughter.

Shiro: Illya has always been my ...

Shinji is weaker than Sakura > but they way she act got him mad

Someone who have every think you want yet act week and apology to you 24h (part he hated most) don't to mention the second he find the truth his family they stop giving damn about him = turn Shinji evil)

before that he was good friend with Shiro (not good but neither bad)

anyway, poor Ilya T_T

too bad they remove her route from the game

.... at another though thanks god they remove it ( route where Shiro lost everything )

Great! After so long without an update this manga hasn't been dropped. I'm really grateful for the translation crew! Thank you guys a lot!

You are very welcome. It's a hell of a job, and we are all very busy, but even still we are giving our best. Don't worry, none of the projects have been dropped, if that was the case we would announce it, so look forward to more releases. :)

See, I thought this was an okayish series until I got to the bit where Shinji beats his little sister in public and nobody does anything. And then went into full-blown "ah ha ha ha nope" when it's revealed that, whoops! He was the guy with the plan to kill everyone in the school! And the MC just goes 'herp derp he's not a bad guy'.

For an ally of justice he's pretty tolerant of evil I guess???

Well Shinji is irritable guy, people thought that trying to stop Shinji will just make him lash it out even more at Sakura.

That, and I don't think Shinji ever physically beat her sister in front of Shirou, and it's out of character for Shirou to not stop it.

It could be that translation from original was wrong in that part as well, since this is exactly what he says in the translation we have. Anyway, I will try to find someone who could check the original scans and correct it if wrong. If not, then we will have to bear with this one. :)

Thanks man, my friend checked it and the quote turned out to be: ''To begin with, my body specializes in this magic circuit only.'' , which implies that what you'd said earlier was right. Thank you very much, we appreciate your help. The correction is on it's way. :D

By the way, I haven't read the japanese version of the manga, but I am reasonable sure that page 25 "This body specializes in magic circuits only" is also wrong.

Shiro as a mage suffers of overspecialization: his magic circuit is basically made for him to use a single form of magic and it's horrible at everything else.

In that scene he is more likely to say something like "The magic circuit in my body specializes only in this" (with better english, hopefully)

A similar expression is used in the novel during the Unlimited Blade Works scenario.

It could be that translation from original was wrong in that part as well, since this is exactly what he says in the translation we have. Anyway, I will try to find someone who could check the original scans and correct it if wrong. If not, then we will have to bear with this one. :)
