Thor does in fact die in the Ragnarok prophecy. I don't know about the whole poison thing, but it's clear in the mythology, admittedly collected by Snorri Sturluson much later than it was originally created, of course, that Thor both defeats and dies to the world serpent.

There are two camps in the whole Sturluson debate. First is the contention that Sturluson was overly sympathetic to the Christians and changed the mythic poems to pander to the Christian religion. This definitely makes sense.

The second is that Sturluson deliberately changed things in his compendium of poems out of necessity. The Christians, especially back then, were the dominating sort, and they were unlikely to look kindly on a religion that calls for the worship of pagan gods. So, in order to save his culture from the Christians, Sturluson makes some serious changes to it. This also makes sense.

The beauty of Fate is that Fate is its own mythology. Fact doesn't matter, story does. History doesn't matter, belief does. Rule of cool and Nasuverse for the win!

How is this labelled as Seinen though

It is the same way as how Medb is weak against cheese in Fate. In her legends, she died because of cheese, therefore, 'conceptually' her weakness is cheese.

It's not as if that the cheese actually killed her. It is stated that the reason she died is because the cheese that was thrown at her at the legend was heavy and was thrown with perfect accuracy. But regardless, cheese became her weakness because it is associated with her death.

I see, so it's more of a fate series thing.  They're really using a lot more of the complicated world building of the fate series in 3rei so it's kind of hard to get the full picture sometimes with only a half-assed understanding of the series which is why I'm very grateful that people usually explain the more subtle things here in the comments.

Actually Thor didn't die... I don't even know why writers even use the story about Ragnarök when it was supposedly written by the Christian to try to convert people from the norse religion.

Of course this is not a proven fact yet, but frankly, when you find artifacts related to the Ragnarök, and pretty much every single one of them(that I know of) show Odin facing Fenrir right beside a cross, and at the other side of the cross there's God facing Satan. You know that the church had it's hand in there. If I do remember correctly there's even a documentary about this theory in particular.

It doesn't really matter if is part of true Norse lore, If the information becomes widespread it becomes part of the servant's lore. A good example is Vlad, he was never a vampire but due to Dracula being commonly associated with him, he gained the Noble Phantasm "Legend of Dracula"

Well I'm not exactly an expert but I'm pretty sure there's not that much that differentiates the gods and Jotunn, heck, Thor's mother is even a Jotunn so if that was all it took they could have summoned Thor too but Magni was probably just the better choice cause he's much stronger.

Also just thought I'd mention this since I find it kind of strange.  There's nothing in Norse mythology that doesn't die when you kill it so even the gods are only about as immortal as jellyfish which is why I find it kind of funny that the only reason the poison didn't work was because it wasn't Thor.  Thor didn't die from poison because it was his weakness, he died because it was really deadly poison.

Well fuck there goes Illya's promise.

Well, with that Fragaranch Beatrice is down for good unless she has some extra lives or an aditional heart. Even if she has battle continuation shes basically a walking corpse. Also i found interesting that by using Magni they trick the summoning system on a way similar to Herakles by summoning an almost godlike being yet still a mortal so he was able to get recorded in the Throne of Heroes

Damn, the ending really mocks the Emiya family, huh. So this is Illya experiencing her Heaven's Feels route.
Bruh that last page is cruel

wow this is truly fight between magical girl!!

if you ignore bulging arm, almost lost sanity, poison and shonen manga like fighting

There are worse, like genetic engineered monster magical girls from the future who love to mass murder humans. This ones are acceptable in the sanity escale.

You cant save everyone..

It introduced one install. Berserker medusa has yet to be introduced in F/GO

Actually she is channelling the Gorgon right now which is in the Game ... just not as a Berserker but a Avenger.

Grand/Beast Servant install when? Since this arc is basically an introduction for F/GO servants, I'm hoping to see Grand Caster install from Ilya by the time 3rei ends, ...or better yet Kuro going EMIYA Alter.

Miyu looks really good with that Serenity outfit

Who's that character on the front page?

Doll

Is that... Angelica...?

The battle would be over really quick if only they have a way to get an Herakles Archer card, but I guess it's too OP
