a bit late since I just found this, in the original JP book, both Altrias are called "Yaritoria" which could be interpreted as Lancetoria or Speartoria which makes more sense and would explain the dumbfounded faces, I wish the translator took this into consideration since (IMO) it was a pretty funny gag
I agree. "Official" translations/localizations across anime/manga/games/etc can be retarded sometimes, especially in the US...ok, a lot of the time. Only occasionally doing a good translations...well~ no....it's a translation better than nothing.
