Description: | At the end of the 21st century, humans have made great advancements in technology and were able to create a giant energy source to power that technology. However, this new source of energy overloaded and turned into a more devastating force than nuclear weapons. The catastrophe wiped out the majority of human civilization and those who survived lived in terror of the anarchy that took over. Hagakure Kakugo comes from a secret family that has protected people for generations from powerful organizations and evil from taking over. They are only awoken in time of need and it has been decades since Kakugo was conscious. His body had been heavily modified by fusing it with metals to enhance both his offense and defense. He uses an armor called the Exoskull that attaches to him to greatly boost his already superhuman power. Thus begins a story about a young man and his armor’s journey through hell. |

While the art is quite top-tier, everything else is pretty much amateur hour. Pacing issues, unrelatable characters (more or less), unlikable characters, symbolism overload and the lack of any semblance of a red thread.
After two whole volumes I still couldn´t care less if the MC wins or dies, and the vampire girl was quite the wasted opportunity. Add to that, the appearance of the new exo girl, is just weird, their bonding is just going at super sonic speed, it like the author didn't plan for it until the last minute.
I know this is the author of Shigurui (have not read it, since I can´t stomach the detailed gore), so I expected something more.
What can I say, this was one weird read. I did enjoy the post-apocalyptic world though.
Damn it and i thought we going to have some "action", you what I'm saying.
Of course his other series shouldn't have anything to do with this series, but they do! It is almostly completely the same setting and character designs, just a slightly different plot... I am not trying to put down anybody who happen to like this series or any other by the same author, but I don't find these enjoyable enough to follow.

same main char name..the armor Zero in the school bag too..is this the sequel..or a retelling?
Or should I say they don`t match with each other since the art is something you could see in seinen and the story seems to have elements from some perverse version of usual shounen story.
