Author: Yamaguchi Takayuki
Artist: Yamaguchi Takayuki
Genres: Action ActionSci-fi Sci-fiShounen ShounenTragedy Tragedy
Type: Manga (Japanese)
Status: Ongoing
Description: At the end of the 21st century, humans have made great advancements in technology and were able to create a giant energy source to power that technology. However, this new source of energy overloaded and turned into a more devastating force than nuclear weapons. The catastrophe wiped out the majority of human civilization and those who survived lived in terror of the anarchy that took over.

Hagakure Kakugo comes from a secret family that has protected people for generations from powerful organizations and evil from taking over. They are only awoken in time of need and it has been decades since Kakugo was conscious. His body had been heavily modified by fusing it with metals to enhance both his offense and defense. He uses an armor called the Exoskull that attaches to him to greatly boost his already superhuman power. Thus begins a story about a young man and his armor’s journey through hell.

While the art is quite top-tier, everything else is pretty much amateur hour. Pacing issues, unrelatable characters (more or less), unlikable characters, symbolism overload and the lack of any semblance of a red thread.

After two whole volumes I still couldn´t care less if the MC wins or dies, and the vampire girl was quite the wasted opportunity. Add to that, the appearance of the new exo girl, is just weird, their bonding is just going at super sonic speed, it like the author didn't plan for it until the last minute.

I know this is the author of Shigurui (have not read it, since I can´t stomach the detailed gore), so I expected something more.

What can I say, this was one weird read. I did enjoy the post-apocalyptic world though.

That's a lot of penises for a first page of a first volume. Only hell for some, I'd say!
It's not her fault that evolution made her that way. The MC is ruthless.
What he just kill the vampire lady just because she isn't 100% human.
Damn it and i thought we going to have some "action", you what I'm saying.
Not very good but, imercenary, the organs were put in before the apocalypse came about.
I wouldn't say the story sucks as much as the storytelling itself.
Is it me, or does the scenario suck big hairy monkey balls ?
The art is pretty good, but the plot and storytelling is horrible. The author is obviously trying to create this massive apocalyptic world, but its so poorly designed its comical. (They can make artificial organs capable of driving corpses forward in search of food, but they can't make underground hydroponic farms? Wtf?)
The series this author creates are so over the top. Was bored and watched the OVA based off his series "Zero Apocolypse" (no idea if it is like the manga) and couldn't stop laughing at how utterly ridiculous it was. Every single enemy is sexual in some nature with horribly disfigured bodies. And the main "baddy" is his brother-turned-female who wishes the destruction of all humanity....

Of course his other series shouldn't have anything to do with this series, but they do! It is almostly completely the same setting and character designs, just a slightly different plot... I am not trying to put down anybody who happen to like this series or any other by the same author, but I don't find these enjoyable enough to follow.
read a few pages...then i find some similarities with this manga.

same main char name..the armor Zero in the school bag too..is this the sequel..or a retelling?
art reminds me of beserk, and grappler baki
The art is good, but the story seems rather lacking in some parts.
Or should I say they don`t match with each other since the art is something you could see in seinen and the story seems to have elements from some perverse version of usual shounen story.
