This is kind of sweet in a sick kind of way. Douman Seiman has a knack for making me have these feelings.
I am under the consensus that the cord between Ashihira's legs is an umbilical cord from a child she was carrying for the two of them. He wants her to get rid of the baby. There is no other reason the guy would know what is between her legs or have had a previous opinion (or a say for that matter) to get rid of whatever is between her legs.
