Really good read. Good story and I really like the art. Akaishi Michiyo is a genius.
I know I'm answering 3 year old comments for an old manga, but I think this does need to be addressed. For the two comments about blood types, while yes, AB- can receive blood from ANY of the other negatives (O, A, B, AB), the TOTAL percentage of people with those blood types in Japan is less than 1%. O- = .15%, A- = .1%, B- = .2%, and AB = .05%. And while these are modern percentages, I'm sure they haven't changed that drastically since 1997. Which is why they say the United States is her best chance of finding a donor. The United States negative blood type total is about 15%.
Also, Japan's population in 1997 was ~126 million, making it where only 630,000 people in Japan have negative blood types. So... I think you might be seeing my point. While yes, AB- can receive from all the other negative blood types, the number in Japan would just be too low, so they would most likely be in very short supply.
i liked the plot, but not the story itself.
