Actually this is the "epilogue" of Drakengard 3 following the true ending (Or prologue of Drakengard 1, more or less). Zero being the MC of the game D3 has a lot of bearing on how things plays out as it does in the manga. Zero won´t show up at all, if this treat D3 true ending to be canon, which is seems to be. Next time, do add that you´re not sure when you´re sprouting nonsense. No offense intended, just don´t like false facts being spread, we cool?

Yeah, you're right. Though I only expressed my own confidence in the statement, never explicitly stating it as fact, I definitely should have pulled it back a little. The game wasn't even out yet in any country, so I couldn't have even known its relationship to 3. That being said, my statement about Zero having no bearing on the manga meant that Zero doesn't have to be the main character just because she is in 3, so that still stands.

Now that I've finished the game I'm gonna go give this another read though! 

I feel this portrays Furiae's madness way better than the game did.
Still waiting for some Caim badassery!

Zero being the main character of the game has no bearing on this manga. This is a prologue, I'm pretty sure, to Drakengard 3. So Zero /may/ show up but that doesn't mean she'd necessarily be the main character.

First of all, Caim looks nothing like Caim.......which annoys the fudge out of me

Second, the elf is okay, but to make a manga about One, really? I thought One was universally hated for killing Zero from behind like the little ***** he is, who´s going to buy this manga if not the fans? I would rather have a manga about Caim/Drakengard 1 (Yeah, they axed the first attempt).

Unlikeable MC even before the manga started doing unlikeable things in the manga........................no wonder this is rated so low.

To the people who find this confusing, GET Drakengard 3 for PS3 and play that once it's out. The manga is here just to tie up stuff between DOD3 and DOD (timeline goes like Nier -> DOD3 -> ENDING A -> S2IA -> DOD -> ENDING E -> Nier)

ONE is ONE(BOY), so to say a male. Well more like a trap since he's made to be a copy of ONE but with the opposite gender.

There must be some sort of cosmic irony at play here for a huge comment about a character being annoying in regards of being too wordy.

That aside, I actually find the whole infodump refreshing for a change. At least something DrakeNieR related is giving things point blank to the audience rather than having to look up supplement materials to learn more about people and history.

Also come on, dude. It's Drakengard. Expecting someone to be normal and tolerable is going to be a long stretch. At least Nero is more entertaining than anybody of the Drakengard 2 cast. Might fit in very well with the first Drakengard cast if the LP by TheDarkId counts for something.

The art is gorgeous, but holy hell is this manga barren...

I love me some bloodshed, but this thing is so excessive and hamfisted it fails to provoke any emotion besides utter indifference. It's as exiting as watching meat get processed on a conveyor belt with occasional snippets of cheap porn thrown in for some extra meh.

The story is in no hurry to establish at least the basics. Nothing whatsoever is explained for a while there, but then Nero (who just won't shut up for a single mercifull panel) gives you some exposition in the most awkward out of place way in the history of everything ever (most of that exposition is obvious or redundant anyway, so you still don't know much of anything that matters).

Most of the time Talky McCanhasrapelol just spouts random words for the sake of spouting something, like some cartoonishly depraved pokemon. I've seen beheaded chickens with more charisma than this doink. One on the other hand seems like he might actually be likeable, but you barely get to see or hear of him, because Mr. Blabberblab hogs way too much of the focus with his incessant blabbering. An'd when he's not drowning One in talk bubbles he's bussy doing something pointlessly revolting just for the sake of it.

While the violence and sex in this one certainly have that special "mature" *for the kiddies* flair, if only someone snapped that cockroach's neck this thing just might become readable.

Now I'm confused. Was one or the swordsman of past chapters a man or a woman? Also, this takes place before what happened to Caim it seems.

A gender wasn't given for One in the earlier chapters. Then the later chapters refer to One as a male but One doesn't speak using gender-specific wording as well which makes it difficult to tell One's actual gender.

This takes place before Caim's birthday, however with the flashback in Caerleon - you will get to see the events of Caim's 18th birthday.

Judgement is set when Caim was younger so that's also pre-Red Unto Death flashback as well.

Either way both of the mangas are set before Drakengard 3 which is set before Drakengard as well.

Now I'm confused. Was one or the swordsman of past chapters a man or a woman? Also, this takes place before what happened to Caim it seems.

That's exactly what it is! I felt like it had to be included given how Drakengard 3 is being set up with all of these little connections all over the place.

Mage... (tallrice here) I have not played the game, so I am translating terms literally based on the Japanese, it's possible the game translators translated the terms from Japanese differently... If this is a big difference, please tell me so that I can change, we can upload version 2s and whatnot.

I'll help out as much as I can, for once my Drakengard knowledge might actually become useful
