Another classic removed? :|

The scanlation group still has their website up:

http://hiwamatanoboru.com/category/doubutsu-no-kuni/

It's missing Volume 01 (0-3), but that can be found on the aggregator websites. As much as I disagree with their existence, it would be a waste of not to read the 13 volumes done by the scanlators because the first volume was lost.

So I highly recommend hitting up MangaHere or a similar website to read that first volume, then get the rest from Hi Wa Mata Noboru. It's a fantastic manga.

wow, that's a shame...this was one of the very best.  Removing it here...I am so sorry to see it gone.

Another classic removed? :|

It would have been nice if Giller could have survived and mended his ways too but he was stubborn till the end.. what a guy..

That was nice. Even though the later chapters are not that nice with all the battling and super powered up villains, it has a certain charm for it's idea of an ideal world. The couples were really nice too! I wonder what Makoto sensei's next work will be like.

wondering, why umegon disappear from the story?

I finished now and one thing that made me happy was the couples.

Among dozens of mangas that I read, this was the first that the pairings that I wanted!

Heh, Salad Udon making salad udon.

I feel this manga is really naive and shallow. It was great read at the beggining, but most of those "beautiful" ideas are childish at best and usually just plain stupid.

why is this not more popular???!!!!

Although it's good at wrenching your heart strings... well you've seen the story flow and style correct? From what I can tell, it doesn't cater to as large of a demographic as you may think. I mean, look at how the last chapter started the first two pages, not to mention it quickly snowballed into an oddball arms race. (How the last chapter started wasn't unexpected though for those who've read this from the get-go because it's imo one of the annoying things about this like the tanuki momma character before her character developed more. Her character in the beginning made me want to flip a table and and almost made me drop this thing altogether.)

Also, what time paradox? I don't see one.

Trying really hard to imagine Jyu Free and Reimu

well... he stopped his "mentality" of the way Animals should live their life atleast not in front of them, all to save humanity from generations of incest born children.

thanx for translation but who he married at the end?

Really? oh come on!

Either an orgy or a swinger party on Giller's grave...

*that does't explain time paradox though*
SHUT UP BRAIN !

No time paradox needed, they already included time travel (how the 5 humans first arrived).  Expansion via additional dimension with a new axis relative to space-time, very possible they are the descendants ;)

This is just hypothetical mental image.  Take a square, it's flat, it has edges, so when it ends, right?  Now, use us in the 3D world to just combine the edges, then we make a cylinder/sphere/whatever that whatever was in 2nd can go on for infinity looping itself.  Take this 3D world, we go and combine the edges (ie. interior, exterior, inbetween, etc...) and make it into a shape we haven't invented yet, same result.  Assuming that time is another dimension (or just space-time) and would fit with this analogy, you wouldn't get a time paradox since time would just loop indefinitely ;)

It got a little crazy here in the end but you know what i really enjoyed it through and through.

Another good rides has ended. I really wish there some connection between Gash Bell and Doubutsu no Kuni....

Wait, maybe there is some connection. Like in Gash world there some talking animal and inhuman (chimera) creature living. They have advanced technology (from Giant Ancient Demon) and somehow have unique superpower ability.
So Gash actually descendant from Kuou.... O_O

Takamine Kuou - every time they said his name my heart smiled, he's the descendant of that man.

All in all, it was a pretty enjoyable read, but

Brilliant manga. Might not have agreed with many of the opinions within it however cant count how many times I may have cried due to the sheer passion included.

Although I may not have liked the ending too much.

umm it was pretty obvious bro XD,

Look at the kids and what they said.

I'm still debating if this manga is tree hugging vegan propaganda crap, or an honest, soul seeking appraisal of mankind and its relationship with the rest of the world.

Well, whatever. It's been an interesting ride, and for all that I don't agree with a lot of this manga's message, I can't say it's been a bad read either. It's definitely bolder and more controversial than Gatch Bell, and for taking that stand alone, I salute the author.

It definitively goes deeper than tree hugging. But hey some people somehow came to the conclusion that mangas like Parasyte were vegan, and that makes no sense!

Hiro Mashima (fairy tail) drew the characters of Bessatsu Shonen Magazine. Check out the Tarouza Momonoya (center):
