long story short, you are not capable of creating and publishing such an adaption of one of these stories, nor are you capable of writing either the original novel, nor the high definition art you expect to find. You certainly wouldnt be able to strive for both extremely HD as well as putting out chapters at a rate that will allow catching up to the novel in a short amount of time.

Don't judge and criticize while sitting in the bottom of a well.

All you brought out is that the art style is chosen  because of the optimization and focus on speed, which could've been kept while at least being somewhat true to the original.

I might be ignorant on all of the things that this Manhua does well, because I haven't actually read it properly, but from what I have read and gone through, this art heavily affects the quality of the work and also the immersiveness of the story itself. The father, instead of a older grizzled barbarian sort of person, is basically a good looking man who looks younger than his age, the looks and descriptions of character are important parts of a visual medium like a Manhua, and this is nowhere similar to the original description. This art also affects the action negatively, making them lose their edge in terms of impact and seriousness. In Xianxia stories, you can get really involved knowing that it's a life or death battle, but with this art, it is impossible to convey the seriousness of certain situations.

They can choose a cuter shounen art style for optimization, but they should stay true to the original with the character design. Coiling Dragon's Grandpa Doehring was a great character, the Manhua butchered him/her (And that change was not with the intent of optimization.). Similarly, while in Desolate Era the initial characters weren't fleshed out fully, they were somewhat fleshed out with descriptive lines and detail, all of it is missing in the Manhua and that simply makes the parents flat as they don't have anything to them (As their interactions are badly done.).

This is marginally better than the butchery they did (artwork and plot-wise)to one of my favorite xianxia stories, Coiling Dragon.

i'm glad i have read the ln because i don't think i could follow the story in this chapter otherwise

Why WHY must every novel adaptation have this childish look? They are xianxia not japanese, they're supposed to be gritty and surreal, not colorful with magical sparkles in their air every single page.

first of all, It's not every one of them and while they aren't japanese, these are after all manhua's and not the official novels.

the thing to keep in mind is that especially for typical wuxia and xianxia is that they are long, and i mean loooooong. you have to cover so much story in leaps at times if you want to even stand a chance at catching up to where the novel, it is almost an overestimation to actually expect the manhua to catch up in any short time not spanning years.

The art style depends on who is the one contracted. I have read quite a few chinese novel adaptions I cant help but marvel at because the quality of art is out of this world. but those tend to be from novels with a smaller span of story, with more details pertaining to the moment and what goes on.

IEatTomatoes works in particular are beyond a simple description of "hundreds of chapters long" and the simpler the art, the more they chose to focus on the story itself. because simpler art means faster output of chapters. It's much faster for softer cuteish art for most of the time and only then putting out the high definition poses when important story landmarks are reached. Additionally, wuxia and xianxia are pull of specific descriptive story elements that just do not translate well into comic adaptions.

xianxia is a genre and japanese is a group/culture of people.  not only that xianxia actually can cover a pretty wide range and doesn't have to actually be gritty or surreal and depending on the setting and can be very sparkly and magical.

Thanks for the advice

That Lobo?

You can read 4-17 over at readmangatoday. I assume Silver Leaf Scans figured it would be better to just start after the already translated chapters

thanks

ok so 4-17 wtf, Silver leaf scans do you plan on doing ch 4 -17

Why should they translate chapters that have already been translated.

Loving the Manhua, the LN feels like Boot Camp Era

i kind of like it cuz so far it folling the route of the novel

How to become immortal:

Learn to be so damn evil that God won't let you into Heaven and the Devil will be afraid that you will take over Hell.

Neither God nor the Devil will allow you to die.

Congratulations!  You are now immortal!  Go forth and wreak havoc unto the earthly realm to your heart's content!!!

(And pardon me while I find a hole to hide in until you get bored with spreading death and destruction.)

Thanks for the advice

His mum's eyes are sometimes round, sometimes sharp...  and even the color changes... What's happening?

Magic!

He wants to be an immortal when he was grows up. When I was his age, I wanted to be a firetruck.

This kid is going places.

i really like it but just one thing bothers me! HELL I WAS NEVER THAT BIG WITH 3 Years and be able to walk like that :/

Thats cuz you don't live in a world with immortals and super strong Divine Beasts and all that, otherwise you would have been huge at age 3 as well.

i really like it but just one thing bothers me! HELL I WAS NEVER THAT BIG WITH 3 Years and be able to walk like that :/

exactly. but artists for manhua's and manga's are told (or have experienced) that the story doesn't get carried over well if it fails to appeal to the target audience of a specific age range.

for me i would want to see their authentic appearances as IET intended them, as this make it easier to distinguish who is supposed to have a godly beauty about them, and keeps the authenticity better. people need to remember that those who often become immortal only succeed in doing so at a late stage in life and thus the majority f them should look elderly by varying amounts, even if they become more appealing as their power raises.Only the true geniuses should look young when they just entered the immortal path :(

but there's also the side of me like a bunch of others my age and younger that like to see high quality art used for the story which often ends up beautifying a lot of the cast. (i just wish important details didn't get altered along with it like in CD with doehring changing from an old man into a young(?) woman)

Doesn't aging slow as you progress, though? So it's not unthinkable that they look like they're in their 30's or 40's. And if they their body is remade like in some of the novels, it's not unthinkable that their wrinkles would disappear, making them look even younger.

And yeah... well... in comics, even "plain" characters will be drawn appealing. Only 'evil' characters usually get the short end of the stick.

His mum's eyes are sometimes round, sometimes sharp...  and even the color changes... What's happening?

the thing is that most ancient people in IET's stories are decribed as old looking. like grandpa doering, beirut, and many of the radiant church people in CD, Uncle Lan and a ton of xiuxenists in ST, and even in DE i think meng was decribed as a homely grandma..

lol based on the art style used for the "important people" so far, i think it would be safe to assume that even if they are old/grandma's they will still look relatively attractive xD It's the problem with associating with immortals, you really can't judge them by their appearances xD

I was talking about the fight with the wolf in chapter one. When he refered to his blade as being powerful (rather than himself or his technique) right after showing it with a bunch of magic runes on it and a magical glow of some sort coursing along it, I took that to mean that it was a magic sword. Which I still believe is the most logical interpretation given the facts at hand. Its possible that I'm misinterpreting it of course, and I hope I am, but that just makes it bad writing of a different sort.

i thought that magic sword page was just a promo page. these people do a lot of that, showing future looks of characters. besides. when was killing that wolf he wasn't using a fancy sword lit up with magic and symbols, it was just a plain sword.
