I just started reading this, and I noticed the "shoujo" tag. This manga, however, was published in Monthly Gangan Wing, which was a shounen magazine, so the tag is obviously a mistake.
Chapter 48 felt like a great big "Fuck you! :D" from the author. Characters making stupid decisions for the sole purpose of creating drama is infuriating. Chiruha's basically trying to bring kisara happiness by doing the thing that would hurt him the most. It's despicable.

The author is dead, but the masterpiece is eternal.

RIP Fujiwara Cocoa

Ahh, that was a nice run, it's nice to see that it's finally over and everyone is actually happy. Thanks to all the scanlators who worked on this, I enjoyed it a lot :D

Well, that's nice.  Good to see those folks I'm fond of resolving things.

That strange realization when

whoooa D: thanks Mystic Iris! It's a fitting ending.

So why is it that at the end of such an emotional scene, I'm being made to think of Doge?

Regardless, thanks for taking us to the end, Mystic Iris.

Maaaaaan, this was a nice ending,

I wish it could've gone on longer but this is okay to.
Been following this for 3 years, gonna be a bit strange not seeing this on the updates list anymore.
Thank you all to the scanlation groups who have worked on this for the past few years!!!

Thing is: he can't stay with her forever. She's mortal. She'd rather have her suffer being alone than him.

Besides, did you forget the beginning chapters? He was used as cannon fodder. They SENT him to DIE, so they could gain tactical advantage. Sure he heals, but he dies first. Imagine the pain of dying a violent death. Imagine it happen a couple of times in succession - he'd have to die until the tactical advantage was achieved. Stabbed, blown up, slashed, etc. Again and again. To the point that it's expected of you. To the point you do it on your own because that is all you're good for. You're a freak that's only use is to die for the cause as many times as they need you to.

OK, the problem of lifespan is a real one . . . but not important for some time.  They have years to study the whole thing and try to figure out workarounds.  Maybe they could eventually learn to trade it back and forth so they could age roughly in synch . . . lots of possibilities.  No need to go off half-cocked.

They did use him as cannon fodder, but the rest is a bit overstated IMO.  He didn't die repeatedly, he got hurt really bad, repeatedly.  And of course lots of times because he's really really powerful, he just wiped the floor with whatever demon attacker rather than getting hurt.  But there's a distinction between dying and coming back to life, and just feeling some intense pain and passing out briefly; as an "immortal" guy, he was fairly clearly doing the latter.  Sure, that's not fun . . . but if there are demonic attackers and you have a group of defenders, I'd say there are two choices:

a)  Let the powerful guy who regenerates all damage take point

b ) Have other people take point and die; repeat until you have one defender left, who will now be taking point by default

Or there's

c)  Get rid of his powers so everyone's even; have them all die one by one including him.

You don't have to devalue the guy to conclude he's the best for the "Up close and personal with demonic attackers" job.

We're finally at the last volume huh? Looks like this one and Teru Teru x Shounen will be going together; two of my favorite shoujo finally leaving me :'). Oh well, I'm excited to see the conclusion! Hope they're all be together again!

Sure, now he has the Captain and the squad. But he'd internalised that rhetoric. That's why he hated her at first - because she'd been the one to lead him to a life of misery.

He regarded it as a curse. She wants to relieve him of that curse - she got lost in the goal, and forgot why she needed to achieve it. Because she forgot that, she probably doesn't realise that he's okay with it now - that he'd rather be with her than have it taken. As for killing herself - she doesn't seem to wanna do that anymore, preferring to search for a better method. And her thinking was probably along the lines of "I did this to him, I made him suffer, I promised I'd take it away. And even if it means I die - don't I kinda deserve it?"

Thank you!

OK, I've been holding myself in, but everyone else is wondering this too, right?

"What is supposed to be so terrible about having made the boy you like immortal and powerful?"

Thank you!

Spoiler

Thanks for the new chapter!

whew, that was intense marathon. i'm glad this isn't tagged as tragedy lol... o_o

There is the part that, you know, everyone treated him like he was a monster, even to the point where his parent's abandoned him and was used as a weapon by the army to basically kill himself over and over again. Going through all that pain and not being able to feel the relief of actually dying... I wouldn't want to live like that. Just saying.

Not like his life was anything to write home about before.  And his comrades seemed to treat him about as well as you could treat someone that standoffish.

Plus, if I had that power nobody would ever notice because my life isn't violent.  The only time it becomes a thing is if he gets horribly injured and people are all "OMG he isn't dead or maimed!  Monster!" and at that point, you know, I'll take a bit of social ostracism over the "dead or maimed" thing.

Meanwhile, ol' demon king is looking spoo-ky.  Who is he playing?

OK, I've been holding myself in, but everyone else is wondering this too, right?

Suicide is not the answer!

I'm guessing it would be because there were 2 extra chapters not counted (24.5 and 46.5) by the scanlators but that were counted in the manga itself?

its 49 but why it says 51 in the manga page

its 49 but why it says 51 in the manga page

She has a strange way of thinking, and no mistake.

That Sigma guy is kind of creepy.

Omg, what is going through Chiruha's mind?! D:

Vol 10 ch 47:

Why? Why didn't they translate the funny red page???

I know it's not related to the plot but the manga's supposed to be part of the comedy genre.

How hard would it have been to translate that double spread page too?
