I loved the English Cirque de Freak novels. I wish this hadn't stopped updating 3 years ago, otherwise I'd try reading it.

I agree! The plot twists and characters really make it feel like a western story!

This story has a pretty well thought plot. It's one of those rare well done novel adaptations. To me, it doesn't feel like a manga or japanese light novel at all, though. It's more like reading a western novel adapted to japanese manga (in fact, the author used to live in england). Personally, i enjoy reading it, but i dislike the story for reasons i don't fully comprehend, to the point i had to drop it after hearing a fairly innocuous hint about the ending.

In the end..
Spoiler

Chapter 83 is just cruel.

Ah this story. I remember getting tired of waiting for the manga back when it was officially licensed and just reading the novels. VERY lackluster ending, but then again, young adult novels always have weak endings.

Spoiler

the demonata series (of novels by darren shan) is far superior to this series.

this was the series he wrote when he was younger, so is a bit 'rough', but the demonata series is much more polished and better quality.

go read them, they're great.

True the Demonata series is more polished, but I love an author that grows throughout a series. I will always cherish those original books, Hell I even wrote a fan fiction for Desmond "Mr. Destiny" Tiny.

But I love his standalone story, I think was the "little executioner" or something along those lines, best of his works in my opinion

I can't believe someone started to translate this agains, holy shit.

I had to finish the series reading the spanish scans, I definaly gonna re-read

you guys are awesome

That. Is literally a pleasant surprise. I had given up all hope honestly. Now would be a good time for jubilation I suppose. But I wouldn't go so far as to expect more. Always hoping for more of course. XD

In the middle of doing the next chapter now. All translated, just putting it all in now :)

Thanks for the update!!

Those translated novels end in a big reveal cliff hanger.. that was no surprise to me, the identity of the lord of the vampanese. I mean they only make it super clear much much earlier who s/he is.

i hope someone translate the Spanish to English till then here's the link to the novel http://www.freevampirebook.net/popular/The_Saga_of_Darren_Shan.html

damn! can't wait for update! how come the other chapters got deleted?

An American novel in manga form? Japan you beautiful bastard.
i wish that they update this soon! :(
I hope someday i will see what happens next
read the whole series. its pretty fun, and pretty tragic. if you dont feel like waiting, you can always buy it on amazon for like 5$ each. also the movies pretty cool too. warning, this is definitely for pre-teens. definitely a 3.75.
I had read the book and I'm not satisfied with the ending also, kinda hope they could avoid it. Is anyone here believe in the story? The author said that it's real. I think I'm 50/50 about it.
i wonder if it'll end the same way as the cirque du freak does? cuz the ending of that kinda depressed me
Simply love this manga for it's unique story,
Ouch hope I won't hate the ending as much...
If i understand it right, every manga volume adapts the corresponding book. So chapter 74 ends the eight manga volume, which covers the eight darren shan book "Allies of the Night".

About my first comment, by "author used to live in england" i'm referring to the manga author. The actual author of the novels is an Irish writer called Darren Shan (like the protagonist of the story), so the "author" field should be corrected.
how far into the storie is this? (dont wish to check my self out of fear of spoilers) so maybe just say like book 2 or something like that
