chap 72

http://mngcow.co/Dark-Air/72/2/

I wish the character motivations and battle mechanics had more logic to them. The character motivations, and even the entire driving point of the plot, isn't well thought out. It would also be nice if magic, or "blue air" was explained more. What is the difference between magic, healing techniques that use "holy power," or an archer's techniques that can somehow summon a spirit attack? How can a musician use buffs if it's not using some form of magic? These concepts aren't explained at all.

The main plot is about equality and how it is unfair for magicians to hold so much power. That, "anyone" can learn swordsmanship or other techniques, but only mages are the select few who truly hold power. However, the series so far has disproven that quite clearly. The average joe is extremely weak. The strong are strong, even if they don't use magic. And the people who can become strong are very few, select people with talent like Steve Vai or Melrose.

Even one of the greatest magicians in the series would easily die in a fight with a master swordsman. Magicians are support, or good for tactical military campaigns. It doesn't make sense for people to hold magic in such high regard, or it "dominating" despite the exact opposite being shown in terms of feats and abilities. The only exception so far is Zappa, but that's through the use of a forbidden tool.

I like the artwork and some of the music references a lot, I just wish the internal logic of the series made more sense.

why isn't it being updated on batoto?

It would seem EG Scans dropped the series and the only group which I can still find working on it is mangacow. Since mangacow stuff is never uploaded on batoto, I'd say it will stay like this for a while.

why isn't it being updated on batoto?

Hmm ... I'm confused about this series. Is it discontinued or not? I found the magazine it serializes in, and apparently it's still ongoing. Last spoilers I saw for it were for chapter 70 back in May or June of this year, but I'm not sure if it's still serializing or if it's completed. (Similar situation for Cavalier of the Abyss, which serializes in the same magazine.)

I found what I believe to be the author's website, but he hasn't posted anything Dark Air-related in a little less than a year, and his most recent post features a new series.

From the 52-58 raws and some of the spoilers I saw, this is what I gathered (in case we never see Dark Air completely scanlated):

Spoiler

and the translation was picked up again by Mangacow

hmm.. really, i thought i saw some raw at chapter 54.

It goes to volume 8 before Baka-updates just lists it as "Ongoing" but according to most sources it has been discontinued with Volume 8 being the last.

"Mmm, Dark Air hasn't been updated in a while, lets check what's going on"

The Manwha got discontinued 0.0 wut! noooooooooooooooo D: dang it. I loved this one...

Thanks for the link. the translation quality is low but you get the general picture of whats happening. just don't expect to understand the finer details.

Oh, what a shame :(

Bit late but just noticed Zappa was modeled after Frank Zappa. This author is pretty cool.
Few minor changes to chapter 35...grammar/wording stuff.
Not sure how to get someone to update it, as EGS won't re-release it as v2 given the changes are so minor.
@dragonscape2
alot of times when the notification comes up, but the chapter isnt actually up yet, you can find it on the scanlators website.
Chapter 35 page 15: That face is priceless.
damn, this is way too cliffhang-y
notification says ch 35 is up but its not showing up, did it get taken down?
Ch 35... I can't stop smiling :]
Dio....Dio. DIO!!! I fully respect this author now.
