Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge

Kadokawa just finished translating and releasing the entire series in English O.o Vol. 1-11.

Would like to note: Bokolife's TLs of this series range from eyebrow-raising to atrocious. Many of his lines are either awkward or warped, and outright incorrect more often than not.

 

I know this because I've had to TLC several of his scripts for this series, and I wound up having to re-translate huge amounts of them. One had an actual translator note reading "reCheck, reTL everything." I decided to just scrap that script and start fresh.

 

This is why I am now the translator for this series as released by RZK. I'm just not fond of working on this series super swamped with working full-time as well as translating for an actual publisher.

 

Edit: Also, since I just put myself up front for this, a status update: I had already TL'd this chapter, but Derek somehow missed getting the script and it fell into oblivion for a while. I've alerted him to it and we'll have our version out soon enough. This series has furigana so it's not very time-consuming to translate--it's just frustrating to have to perform word alchemy at times when the Japanese phrasing has no English analogue (very common in this series).

 I have been reading from chapter one to the most recent chapter these past few days.  It may just be me, as I have not been reading particularly carefully, but I feel like the majority of the previous translations are pretty choppy and/or hard to follow (not to say that I don't appreciate the translations; I do, and thank the translator(s) for them). If this really is the case, you are taking on a hard job (in the sense that it may be difficult to make translations consistent with previous chapters, if you so choose) and I wish you luck.

You need to change the sort order. Try making it 6032, my best guess is that you uploaded it without the volume number and then added it later, which would put it at 0032, below everything else.

You need to change the sort order. Try making it 6032, my best guess is that you uploaded it without the volume number and then added it later, which would put it at 0032, below everything else.

Wow. It's been exactly one whole year since I made an account on batoto, and Crime Edge was and will always by my favorite manga. It's only updated once in my stay, and rereading to catch detail is tedious af. There's so much questions needing answers. Is Kashiko's plight ever resolved? Who exactly is Poison and what role does monocle man play? Is the anime's short haired Houko ever addressed in the manga? I kind of thought the current group scanlating this was made for picking up dropped manga, so maybe if I stick around for another year...

An update is the best Christmas present I could have asked for. And the last of the Order Made Goods appears.

The new chapters (30-31) are showing up at the bottom again...

The symbolism is simultaneously moe, cool, and sick.

 

So Iwai-chan puts Kiri's Scissors (his 'Goods' which symbolise him) into a special holster, then says "I'm sure that my father kept this for only you to use!"

They never properly detailed what an "instead" meant...

I thought an "Instead" was anything you could use to take out your abilities on in order to satisfy the urges that having a killing good does to you.

 

It's like having a substitute in place for killing others. Kiri "kills" Iwai's hair instead.

This mini-arc was super annoying. Like many other decisions the author has made, it's totally round-about and pathetic. It only ever gets satisfying near the end of these little battles. A whole lot of grief and danger could have been avoided by kicking ass 100% of the time rather than 5% of the time. And now a good rifle is damaged in the process - An older Remington from the looks of it. Who else wants Kiri to cut the crap and put the backhand on the blonde bimbo?

 

She'd enjoy it too, from the look of things.

The Birth of the Bloody Barber

 

If this is a transformation(henshin) then it's the worst one I've ever seen.

I want to know what Kiri's 4th ability is... seriously (after all the author has labeled him to have 4) also. So awesome how he just laid waste to he 2nd good. Ah torturing your enemy.... I have to admit it's quite a satisfying way to beat them.

Finally an update!!! I missed this series.

 

Violet Witch seems like a good mastermind antagonist, too bad I find her to be a bitch.
