Just realised that they're named after months in Japanese (with Haruki as an anomaly), Mutsuki, Kisaragi, Yayoi, Uzuki, Satsuki...

Haruki is the spring in a similar way to Minami-ke's Haruka, which this series can't avoid borrowing from.
though you obviously know that already.
Going slightly deeper he fits into the sequence,

1. Mutsuki =january, 1st, winter
2. Yayoi = march, 3rd, spring
3. Uzuki = april, joint 4th, spring
4. Satsuki = may, joint 4th, spring/summer

Haruki containing Haru fits into the 2nd place gap covering the missing Kisaragi of february for winter/spring
