We also got to see them grown up (using the same Dokou jutsu/assimilation technique) in the first season,Corseltell no Ryuujutsushi.
Jesus Christ Nata is an adorable little shit, but he's a bully. Imagine an alternate scenario when he grows up and other dragons try to hit on Tata or Mata.

I've read it couple of times already, but chapters 'Origins of a Star' still give me teary eye somehow.

I figured some people might've wanted to know what he was saying. (
Based on what I've read of the series I've made these conclusions:
All Dark dragons have their wings exposed and use them to express emotions that don't appear on their usualy reserved facial expressions.
I haven't seen them used for terrestrial flight, Immature Wind dragons don't seem to need exposed wings for their flights while in humanoid form.
If there is two dark dragons at each end they can open a teleportation portal between them. Flight doesn't seem to be used amongst the younger dark dragons. Since adults are "out among the stars" can't tell if it's used at maturity.
Also Raruka and Nata have problems with verbal communication while Erize is more normally vocal. (Dark dragons have a higher degree of empathic/telepathic ability, which might explain the problem of talking with others.)
In all dark dragons are both mysterious and powerful.
