Pity this never got finished.
I know that, in the original series, the girls were destined to kill each other, and it seems this is tied to it, so I went in pretty much knowing that it would end with them both impaled on something, probably that sword, holding each other intimately as they died from their injuries and extreme blood loss.

it's been quite a while since the translation get stopped (stuck) ...
I hope it will get continued ...
and yeah, the ending is part of "curse" / "condition" of their existence ...
they will meet again in each of their "reincarnation", fall in love with a lot of hardship ...
one of them eventually get died ...
and will get rebirth ... and meet again ...
(that 2 girl really sad about their fate, but also think their meeting for their each other in live is also a blessing in disguise)
i like Sanctuary Amnesia Girl and Kannazuko no Miko but i dont like the end of both , because they are not really Happy End
i wonder how long the scanlation works, in germany is finish

yeah, in anime (from Kannazuki no Miko) will get into detailed which ...
2 girls get reincarnated over and over, having love and yet deadly relationship which either might bond them together or will make them start killing each other ... since this 2 girl love each other (yuri) they will try to fight the bad end which always surrounding them ... (note that 2 girl will also appear in Kaishaku release which means they reincarnated over and over) and one girl indeed is a strong smart cool beauty which a bit close to Medaka trait ...

Not really, since they both started in 2009.
This basically predates Medaka by 5 years you know.

the anime is good too (yuri gundam or something ... lolz) ...
the anime version evenmore clear, which most mecha get close appearance with gundam ...
careful, there's yuri raep in there (the manga version raep even more extreme) ...
(which I think the reason it won't appear in SRW ... lololol ...)
It's a rare sight to me to see a manga with yuri battle and ecchi setting (and also bloodshed)
