Description: The two boys Gin and Jinrou form a tough team in the mountains. One day, Gin decides that the only way they can move forward is to travel to the capital and join the Shinsengumi. It soon becomes clear, though, that they are not tough enough to handle the kind of people they find in the capital. Some of them, including the current Shinsengumi members, smell like beasts to Jinrou, and they seem to have unusual abilities. After Gin's tragic death, Jinrou is determined to become stronger and join the Shinsengumi in his place!

Every shonen series without a motherload of ecchi get's canceled these days anyway. I wish they would start to take the west into consideration, even publishing series only here, they sure are missing out on quite a bit of money.

Getting cancelled quickly is the inevitable fate of most series in Jump, and it doesn't seem to have too strong a correlation to level of ecchi.

Not that I don't understand your frustration that a decent amount of the series in there seem to be hanging on primarily on their merits of titillation. It's infuriating to see good things go when garbage stays. But in the end, the amount of poor taste in the current comics exhibited tends to be fairly evenly split across the shounen spectrum.

Additionally, a quick look at the most popular manga on English-language reader sites does not seem to indicate that pandering to the West would improve matters very much at all. Men being pigs is not something Japan invented.

thanks for the update.

Well, the Shinsengumi are an actual part of Japanese history.

Soldiers of the Shogunate and all...

I know that already, but I was making a joke since I like gintama....

Fuck the captain. Split the river when facing weak enemy.Send the young to face dangerous enemy. Why the fuck they dont cover them?

Gin? Shinsengumi? GINTAMA?

the logic in this operation is kinda driving me off.

-he stronk as shit( he fought every SINGLE ONE of the shinsengumi)

By taking the west in consideration, you're talking of around 11% of readers, right?

Also note:

- Weekly Shonen Jump target audience is Japanese readers!

- Weekly Shonen Jump in japan has around 2.7 Million readers!

- The rest of the world hardly have 10% of that number(270k readers).

I don't know where you came with the "Every Shonen series without a motherload of ecchi get's canceled these days anyway". You so wrong that is not even funny. Even if I remove the "a motherload of" transforming your affirmation as "Every Shonen series without ecchi get's canceled the days anyway"  just in Weekly Shonen Jump you have:

- Boku no Hero Academia

- Toriko

- Haikyuu!!

- Assassination Classroom

- World Trigger

- Hinomaru Zumou

- Isobe Isobee Monogatari

- Saiki Kusuo no Sainan

Popular series with no kind of Ecchi at all! And those series makes 61% of the popular series in the magazine.

Also I don't see how a person could consider:

- One Piece

- Gintama

- Bleach

- Kochikame

- Nisekoi

as having "motherload of ecchi". And even Shokugeki no Souma I wouldn't call "motherload" but that I understand if somebody thinks it has to much.

The new popular misused phrase in batoto after ntr: axe

Yeah , not reading it... seems good but I don't really enjoy axed series , they end up rushed and you end up wanting more , the feeling sucks.

I mean , ok , you cancel a 2-4 years series it's fine , there are lots of chapters and it probably means the author ran out of ideas , but a series with a couple months when it gets cancelled is because of the japanese readers didn't like the idea , and I hardly agree with their tastes , they let shitty mangas like nisekoi run for years and cancel so much better series...

Surprisingly enough, the ending does not seemed rushed at all... it's like an open ending and is really good for a short series...

jajaja why isn't hijikata eating mayo or why okita isn't trying to murder him xD ... that's some fine questions I asked myself while reading this manga xD

officially wsj only contain ridiculous manga such as bleach and one piece, and a lot of fan service manga..

Damn, Gintama destroyed the image of shinsengumi in my mind

I'm thirsty for more(drooling) Keep it and thnx for the translation ^^

I do enjoy them anyway. So it's really frustrating when scan groups drop them halfway after they get cancelled.

We're dead-set on finishing the manga, so don't worry! :D

I don't get why you are not interested because it has been axed, an intense miniseries is fine too. This was a really good start.

It's exactly like Freenight said. I prefer never start the series if I know it's just going to end up rushed. There was a oneshot in Jump VS around 1 years (which I read and really liked - was my favorite oneshot in all the magazine too) and honestly, I prefer keeping the oneshot in mind and remembering this as something great than read a series that will not even have 3 volumes and leave a bad taste in my mouth when I finish reading it

Because axed mangas rarely got to be wrapped up nicely. If the ending is gonna be serious crap because the author had to pull all the stops and end it in a few chapters it's gonna leave a bad taste. Better to never start.

Hence the disinterest

That was one hell of a first chapter. Why jump keep axing manga with that much potential ? ><

I totally wanted to read this one... but now it's axed... in fact it ended the same week as Naruto...
