I love the play on the two shrine women. Here the mangaka goes and makes them "useless" in a common world. And they're making wicked grannies. Hurray for support characters!

And now I am the proud owner of all ten volumes.  Just in case.

Chapter 5, page 9, first panel: "Mune-chan"  That must have been a Freudian slip on the part of the translator or typesetter.  The original text is "眠ちゃん", which is "Nemu-chan", and which makes more sense in the context of the story.  Instead of "Sleepy-chan", Mune-chan would be understood as something like "Chest-chan".

Just from flipping two syllables...

Anyone picking this up? I like it so far, but it sucks if this is all that's ever going to get translated, especially knowing there's 10 volumes.

I have succeeded in getting my hands on the first two volumes, and just ordered the next four from the same vendor, since they have come through for me where others have not.  Just as with Bara no Tame ni, the book pages are really yellowed/reddened with age, but I have learned how to deal with that.

That said, I think it would be better if I finished Bara no Tame ni first, so it may be a while yet.  The most important part, for now, is getting the books before they cannot be gotten anymore.  With the books in hand, if there's somebody else who really, really wants to do the work before I get around to it, then something can be arranged.  Without the books, you're sunk.

Second impression:  I'm enjoying it.  I can't say exactly why.  Something about it reminds me of Higashimura Akiko's stuff; in a quieter way, the characters all have their own manic energy a bit like that.

First impression near beginning of first chapter:  Sometimes translators whose English isn't all that fluent use cooler words than ordinary people.  Specifically, bemoaning being a "poltroon"--lovely word, nobody ever uses it any more but this world would be a richer place if they did.

Zounds, knave, you cut me to the quick!  Have at thee, base poltroon!  Whee!

There.  All I have been able to find.  What's more, chapter 4 appears to be a page or two short, apart from the missing credits pages.  Enjoy!  Unless somebody finds the mythical chapters 5 & 6, or starts scanlating this series again, that's all you're getting for now.

FWIW, this series is ten volumes in total.

UPDATE: I found the "official" SweetSense releases for chapters four and five, and have updated the chapters here.  I was right about chapter five missing a page or two, though unless you read Japanese the missing page won't help you much.  And I have confirmed that SweetSense never did scanlate chapter six.

This is one of those times the slightly off translation makes it more fun to read ^^

The first several chapters, scanlated by the group "SweetSense" in 2009, were pretty good, if you overlooked the English grammar and spelling errors.

Quirk: The two main characters are drawn virtually identically to the two main characters of Bara no Tame ni (Yuri and Sumire).  Their personalities, of course, are different.

UPDATE 2017-02-13: There.  Poached from elsewhere on the 'net.  I'll get the next three chapters as I have the moment.
