Description: | A genius who fell into darkness. The god of the underworld. Akagi Shigeru runs from a Chicken race where he almost died to a Mahjong parlor, where a man is losing all his money to the Yakuza. Akagi, who is only 13, tells him that he plays it wrong, although he has never played the game before. Akagi then replaces him in the game, and there a legend is born. When the police come to check in on the parlor to see if the child that ran from the Chicken race is there, they deny the relation of Akagi to the chicken fight. In the end the policeman invites Akagi to a much more organized Mahjong game and from there the legends only continue to develop. Wooo we're actually getting to the scanlations of the end lol
Comparing the earlier chapters to the newer ones, you can really see how much content Fukumoto used to put in and how 'padded' each chapter is now.
Given that the manga only has 8 or so chapters left, that's impossible.

Another 200 chapters of a rematch. Hype hype hype hype hype.
......................pon........
He finally admit that he lost. But he only lost because of a technicality. Now its really funny to me how Akagi thought that Washizu's death is the most glorious death a gambler could ever have even though in reality that's not the case at all.
Thanks even tho I don't get it. I guess that what happen when I skip chapters.
Washizu-sama!
Welp, I'll see you guys in 14 years for the conclusion of the rematch.
Pon.
Loved Akagi's monologue. And it's not over yet, there are still about 10 chapters left to Akagi, so look forward to it!
Really solid ending... interestingly enough, one that wouldn't have worked as well if Ten hadn't ended first (Ten also started first, but Akagi started way before Ten ended).
I wonder what he plans to do in next week's issue. I honestly have no idea what if anything could be left for Akagi.
A great end to a great manga. Huge thanks to FKMT-sensei for this masterpiece, as well as our trusty scanlators for bringing it to us in English.
Well that's a complete plot twist, Akagi gets kidnapped by the black suits.
My now-impossible theory was that Akagi would lose, die and they'd be permitted to use Washizu's drawn blood to try and revive him in an act of remorse from the old man. But this could be even better. Clearly neither Washizu nor Akagi want this ending, and that's a really interesting thing to focus on this close to the end.
Akagi probably goes" Now is your last chance, Washizu!" with the shadow of King Enma.
Nah
That face when you wanted the latest game for Christmas and got socks instead.
Nah, that arc will be saved as a sequel to Ten.
Like, Washizu dies, they have a funeral, then the author is like "Read Ten to find out what happens next in Akagi's life! Then tune in next week to the thrilling sequel to Ten, from Akagi's point of view!"
Then we get to the next chapter, Akagi has just died--as is canon--and wakes up in hell. Then "Ah, Washizu! You conquered Hell after all! I've been waiting a long time for this--let's have a rematch, hmm-hm-hm...."
And its done, he's died.
Fan theory:
Washizu dies and goes to hell before the games ends. His funeral lasts for the entirety of the remaining 10 chapters.
Unsatisfied with the ending, Akagi travels to hell to challenge Satan at mahjong with Washizu's eternal soul at stake. We'll call this arc Akagi's Inferno and hopefully, it's going to last another 300 chapters.
fuck, i really can't see the washizu-arc having a good ending at all
