Putting her relationship with Yeong-min aside, am I the only one to think it would be a bad idea for a girl who is basically a walking nuclear bomb to become more assertive?

That's one point, how about this one:

Random girl A comes along one day and confesses to Yeong-min, they start going out. Sae-mi is not happy at all that some girl has come out of nowhere to take "her" Yeong-min away from her, so her jealous and vindictive side starts to come out. There were no survivors.

Better to have that walking nuclear bomb never wanting to hurt anybody.

Also, a slightly different theory for Yena's motives has occurred to me:

Yena really does feel that way about Yeong-min, and is doing it this way because she cares about her best friend and knows how she feels, basically giving her time and a chance to confess to him first in a "If you aren't going to date him, then I will because I love him too - but if you want to confess to him first then I will hold on to my feelings and step aside" sort of way.

She's too shy and comfortable with the status quo, I'm sure she would just be satisfied being able to walk home with him forever more, while Yena tears her hair out trying to get Sae-mi out of her comfort zone and making progress. If Yena has determined that this is the only way to give Sae-mi a wakeup call, to pretend to try and steal Young-min before some other girl comes and confesses to him for real, then so be it.

Assuming that my speculation is indeed correct.

...I would argue that telling her friend she likes the same guy and intends to confess is a mark of real friendship. That takes guts.

Perhaps for a normal person, yes, it would take guts, but Yena is far from being a normal person. She is a privileged, elite child of an enormously wealthy family who, as typical of such persons, feels that she deserves to get whatever she wants without regard to the wants or desires of anyone else, including her so-called best friend. In this case, it was not a case of a mark of real friendship that took guts to voice, but a proclamation of, "I want him and I don't give a shit that you want him, too." Even if it is, indeed, a ruse to motivate Sae-mi to take action herself, as Gatar said,

...A real friend would be honest and open and not try to manipulate you into doing what they think is right.

Then again, being manipulative of her so-called best friend is part and parcel to who Yena is, as we have already seen.

There's no proof yet that this is a genuine attempt on Yena's part to take Young-min, it is entirely possible that this is Yena's attempt to hurry Sae-mi up and get her to confess her feelings because at the current rate she would probably never work up the courage to do so before her hair turns grey.

I'm holding my verdict for now, as I believe this is what will happen.

That's probably the case, but man I hope not. I feel like I've seen that kind of scenario too often, now it's just kinda boring. It'd be much more interesting if she actually DOES like him and intends to seriously confess.

I am beginning to loathe Yena. If Sae-mi really is her one and only true friend, what the hell is she doing telling Sae-mi that she likes Young-min (whether actually she means it or not)? Is this how you treat your one and only true friend? Back off b&@#h!

So what's your suggestion then? Go behind her back and confess to him? Ignore her own feelings completely? I would argue that telling her friend she likes the same guy and intends to confess is a mark of real friendship. That takes guts.

This is of course assuming she really DOES like him and this isn't just to move the plot along. It probably is gonna be that, but one can always hope.

Edit: Was rereading everything looking for evidence and came upon an odd realization; is it just me or do the big bars of light censoring panty shots make it look like all the girls are going commando? Or maybe they really are going commando? I'm just going to make that my head canon from now on.

Even if that were the truth (which would be seriuosly cliché) it's still a dick move. Cornering your friend like this rather than supporting her to confess her feelings in her own way is not gonna help, it's just going to drive a wedge between them. A real friend would be honest and open and not try to manipulate you into doing what they think is right.

Poor villa... I hope it survives the coming battle....

>ending out of nowhere

Oh please.

Wondering if this is misdirection just to get a cliff-hanger.  Like, next chapter "NO, not like that!  What I meant to say was, he's a good guy . . . BUT"

God dammit.

Bombshell

What a revelation!

One thing some might not have noticed : the redrawer's doing an incredible job.

Speed lines everywhere + textured color gradients + transparent bubbles and sfx is hell on earth, kudos for the quality work. Typesetting is also seamlessly integrated, nothing looks out of place.

The tragedy of redrawers is that their work is perfect when nobody notices it...

redrawers are like backstage actors and professional killers, if you do a good job, nobody should notice.

Yena and misuzu
So the things on her hair were not rabbits back then yet... hmmm... some kind of parasitic organism maybe? Source of her powers?

Yakult is so nostalgic. I kinda want to have some now.

Is that... Abdul?

Dude should get a Nokia phone; those suckers are near indestructible.

It is kind like a old joke about if superman and Lane had sex. First time he cums he would literally blow her brains out.

There was a deleted scene in Hancock that addressed this. He had to push women off him because he'd punch holes in the metal roof of his trailer home...

Perhaps the guy knows her secret?

Spoiler

But she's so cute. Is it worth suicide to marry her?
