Such a tool does exist; it's called an eye.

(The definition of "light" is the spectrum of electromagnetic radiation visible to the human eye.)

"Ultraviolet light" ain't a contradiction in terms, but we can't see it.

The definition of "light" is, if not simply "EM radiation", period, "the optical wavelengths". That includes at least part of both UV and infrared. And you can use X-rays and radar for imaging.

It wouldn't, a physicist who says something is impossible is an arrogant prick. Good physicists don't doubt, they investigate the claims and try to find a way to make it posible. Science is still much too far from the truth to be making claims of what is acceptable and what is not. We've reached so far by tearing down walls of impossibility after all. There's no such thing as a tool that can allow us to see all kinds of light there is, so there can still be more energies or substances we can't see.

your comment betrays a fundamental lack of understanding of what light is lol

Mages usually are usually ill fitted due to their lifestyle. If you spend your life practicing and studying magic, you dont have much extra time for physical training. On certain worlds like forgotten realms (pre spellplague) mages had to relearn the spells each time they casted them so they spent most of the time with their noses on their grimoires. Of course here is played for laughs

On a meta side was basically number crunching, you want to focus on your strenghts not on your weakness that can be solved with teamwork, so depending on jobs/class certain atributes were low priority, but even so was uncommon to have mages with baby like strenght (they tended to be below average though) Strenght enhance spells/skils/items were used on melee fighters since they were the ones that get the most benefit of it

That is the way of the weak, the strong crush their weaknesses with devotion. There are many legendary mages in D&D that have gotten a few fighter or other combatant class levels, in order to face their enemies head on.

All in all these stories about mages not having time to strenghten their body is actually bullshit made up for the simple purpose of balancing the class.

I hope when you say you agree with that, you mean in the context of the manga / fiction in general. A sentence like "energy is made of everything that surrounds us and that is also within us" would surely make any physicist cringe.

[Delete] Please, pretty please?

TBH, there's a theory with which I agree, which posits that magic is energy, and energy is made of everything that surrounds us and that is also within us. So magic, in this way, is mostly a way to use the energy in an inwards way after absorbing it by various means (meditation, eating, etc.) rather than using it to supplement your body's strength (which is closer to Chi). ^.-

Magic is a fictional force dictated by the author's definition : \

So... will the next installment be called "The legendary weapon is so heavy I can barely hold it"?

"The legendary weapon is too darn heavy... and also chatty"

Oh. I guess it’s not too heavy to equip anymore, so it’s over? Hopefully it gets a slightly differently named “sequel”.

That's the shortest non-oneshot adaption I've seen... o.o

the creator of Sankarea did the same some months ago.

10/10 - fun premise that didn't overstay its welcome. If they actually wind up turning it into a real serialization, I hope the author can keep things as fresh as they were here. If they kept running with the idea that the kiddo's physical strength is all that's limiting his use of the staff, it'd be hilarious to actually watch him become the shota muscle wizard under the guidance of Mr. Muscle Mustache.

This would be a billion times better without that shitty overused tsundere twin-tail mucking up the joint.

It's probably just because tsundere was all the rage in my formative years, but am I the only one here who still likes these characters?.. I never minded the trope, although I'd agree that the authors often cross the line from "tsundere" to "abusive". Its a character trope, it can be done well or poorly; when its done well it's charming, and as a kid it would really get me inspired to work hard and improve myself. Lot of fond memories of Kugimiya Rie's glory days, I loved all of her characters.

The only real sin here imo is that she's nowhere near as interesting or amusing as most of the cast, they're all pretty amusing and she wasn't given anywhere near as much love in her writing.

I'm guessing this will have a sequel under a new name?

In 3 chapters, this surpassed all those isekai and heroes mangas.

THAT HELMET

HAS A MUSTACHE

MON DIEU

It's "pronto", not "prompto", unless you were trying to translate some weird pun from Japanese...

isn't Prompto that guy from FFXV....

Oh, goody, another bitch childhood friend who pounds on the MC for no good reason. I thought we were done with this horrid trope.

No kidding. And I really liked the 1st chapter, too. The 2nd chapter drove this series from a 8/10 into 4/10 territory.
