I mean, in one he flees caught by panic for absurd reasons, in the other he just walks away because somebody rejects him. In one, I can find a gag manga logic, in the other, it doesn't make sense. But I totally agree that the rejection in itself is more realistic, it's just that the follow-up doesn't fit.

But, I agree that fight is botched, but probably because the author didn't want to prolong this for two or three chapters.

I prefer short fights, long fights loose all the tension, it's one of the reasons that I avoid shounen when I want something to enjoy. (combat sports manga are exception since, if done right, feels believable, with rounds and pauses to recover, like real life)

Wow... absolutly no suspense in this manga. This pacing is atrocious, like sitting in a bullet train looking a the nearest scenery. Everything just flashes by, at least it is pretty to look at.

I'm ok with the pace, since there are fights here and there, an amazing mascot, and lots of content in each chapter (mostly because the chapters themselves are really long so there are lots of pages to fill, but there has been a decent amount of storytelling in each chapter thus far, which I love).

I think the LN version is actually more logic , I would rather just go away than deal with a weird situation just to say "good bye", why saying good bye to them is even that important?

Webnovel vs Light Novel. Manga seems to be based on Light Novel. Reading the description of the webnoval, it seems way less believable, more childish and not as well fleshed out. Because while her it is genuinely her rejecting him, her reasons for doing so while annoying are still somewhat understandable and justified at least given how quickly things went down.

This is my one happiness when i read this manga

The manga artist is simply not good, weird that they left him change this part so much.

It seems more like this is based on the revised Light Novel from what I've read. Which changed quite a few things and improved the story. Including this. 

For the "reject", I find the novel better.

In the webnovel, Sarona just said: "I appreciate your feelings but .... Sorry but..." then the MC runs (because of Panic-sama). She is not rejecting him in fact, just confused after what happened and what's her feelings while the MC panics and flees.

 

While in the manga, she gives a complete answer and plainly rejects him. But if it follows the same story, she will chase him after that, which contradict her rejecting him. Also, he just leaves like that, not even waiting for to be thanked by the elves for saving the village or saying goodbye to his elven friends.

 

So I find the webnovel version more logic, but also more absurd (in the sense where everything is exaggerated, like a gag manga)

Ok, I reread the rejection and if we get what I think than it will be much better than in the novel.

Sorry for being dense but by losing everything and his regret from fighting the dragon king, did he mean his clothes? 

For the "reject", I find the novel better.

Here's the thing. What she was saying was actually pretty clear unless the translation was off. 

Him: "I like her."

Her: "Sorry, I'm a Guardian I can't leave this village."

Him: "That's okay, I can stay with you!"

Her: "Nope, you're not one who should/would end up in this village."

Him: "Oh well, sorry then. I'll be going now."

Her: "....."

Her: "....."

Her: Watches as he leaves.

 

If this wasn't an absolutely atrocious translation. Then she basically went out of her way to cause a misunderstanding, one she then reinforced before watching him run off while at no point attempting to clarify what she meant while she had the time. This is entirely on her. 

 

Edit, looking at what spoilers and other people are saying. It seems you were even more wrong than it initially appeared!

It appears she was indeed genuinely rejecting him. So him sticking around and listening some more wouldn't have changed anything. What changed things was him leaving and her having time to work through her own decisions. At which point she comes to regret them and changes it. So I have no idea why but you are blaming the entirely wrong party.

this is why he needs to be with Mear and abandon all these indecisive grills ;D

i wont be surprised if Mear can transform somehow
