Description: | Yuuki kun was one of the star players on his junior high school team; along with his childhood friend Shinichi. Due to a promise that he made with his female childhood friend Miyuki, Yuuki kun has decided to take the long road to the J League by joining a normal school club and winning tournaments, instead of taking recommendations like Shinichi did.... When he checks the club of his selected school, the best club in the country; he quickly notices that the club is completely devoid of any members except for a weird girl that goes by the name of the Fujisaki Rin. She along with her friend Ayane seem to have driven everyone out of the team.... But is it really that Rin and Ayane want to dissolve the soccer club? or could they possible want something else??.... And just what is exactly the promise that Yuuki made with his childhood friends? Well, regardless of the answers it seems that Yuuki isn't in for a smooth sailing, as he completely seems to have fallen into Fujisaki's hands... |

Agreed, though nothing really happened with Shinichi. I was really looking forward to that develop. It seemed that was going to be a plot point (plus the crossdressing, still don't get the point of that) but it was dropped, unfortunately.
Tad shocked they actually gave Kageyama some development, wish they didn't shit on him so hard the entire series though.
Series went in a expected route however. It was merely okay.
It kind of had to end like it did as is, since there was really nowhere for the original story to go after that game. Now a follow up would have to focus on different stories, rather than a complete paradigm shift of attitude and overall tone.
I would say that maybe it got cut short, but it DID reach 10 volumes even if that was only 45 chapters. My guess is it probably was waning in popularity a bit in the magazine and so they wound it down. Kinda like how Nononono wrapped up rather quickly despite being at Vol 13 or 14.
Well, if you think it through, Rin's dream was
Final chapter was satisfying, but a bit short and missing some things, like Okita's character development after that match. I enjoyed the manga and every character. I can't help but love kuuderes (Yukari *^*). Thanks a lot to Wakamiya-sensei and iManga for these 5 years ^-^
it took a little more than 5 years but finally saw the end of this lol, that was a decent read but tbh i barely remember anything from the first chapters
The end was nice enough i guess...it was too sudden though, epilogue could've been better
It is indeed a little strange that she couldn't go to a women's league. I think Japan does have a good women's team. And I think there are certain drills the mens and women's teams generally do together while training for the Olympics.
But I guess Rin just had no interest in women's soccer, and so that wasn't going to be a plot line.
But don't you know that
I'm glad Kageyama got somewhere
So basically Rin wants to see Yuuki reach the top.
As in stay by his side
As in SHIPSHIPSHIPSHIPSHIP
Okay? Okay.
I did enjoy the ending but....
Aside from that, I was quite satisfied with the ending though it felt like it came out of no where for me
THANK YOU IMangaScans for translating this series. It was a nice read. The ending was nice and not too forced. I liked it.
Yes, this was a very schizophrenic manga. I wish it stayed like it was in the early chapters to the end. When it tried to be serious, it just got weird. The ecchiness was splendid early on.
It was a weird journey.
It started off with so much ecchi.
Then ecchi toned down and stuff started becoming serious and confusing
But the end was satisfying.
Thanks for the scanlation~
yay?
Brazil Ronaldo > Portugal Ronaldo mmm...
He's always the best player I've ever watch, (well I never watch live Maradona or Pele matches) mmm...
It does seem that way, doesn't it.
But this series had no future, i'm afraid. A Mixed gender team could never go that far, unless they managed to do something the entire sports scene rules, and that'd be pretty much impossible as they will be considered an anomaly for winning against many all male teams.
Rules can't be made out of exceptions, unfortunately
The ship ascended into canon, 11/10 will board it again when I forget the story.
Decent little manga. Not spectacular and quite flawed, but still decent. And short enough not to drag on or anything. I will be looking forward to see what else this mangaka does.
Nothing except boobs at the end. For winning this they should've gone way beyond
lingeriejuice party :/Nothing got axed when goodafternoon mag first started out in 2008 when this manga began.
Why do I feel that this got axed?
