They have stated in  the manga that the hypnotism follows the rule of "not acting outside a persons set of morals" meaning if a person feels strongly that killing is wrong they cannot be hypnotized to do it.

Well, you're absolutely right about that part about Sasaki Anna, since I've read ahead in the raws until chapter 62 and that's exactly what happens. Then again, I think at this point it's pretty damn obvious that she's the granddaughter XD Also Yakumo's dad is the one that helped out Anna back then, so those two have been in cahoots since way back then.

 

Judging from how Yakumo's mom tried to save them, I feel like the reason that his mom tried to kill Yakumo when he was young might be because she was under Anna's hypnosis, since

Yakumo's dad and Anna have been working together at that point already so he could have just ordered Anna to do it

. Also I think Isshin mentioned that she wasn't the type that would try to kill her child like that, so it would make sense that she was under hypnosis. Although not sure why they would do that, perhaps it's to try to isolate Yakumo for some twisted reason... And it's also interesting how Yakumo's dad just let them get away like that, since technically he could have just walked right through the ghost and still killed them. But clearly the appearance of Yakumo's mom surprised him in some way... I'd like to think it's because some part of him might have loved Yakumo's mom at one point, but it's unlikely

Sasaki Anna is the missing granddaughter. After all, they never specifically mention her age, therefore we're looking at anywhere between 7-13 years of age when her family is killed just by the one drawing of her shown in ch. 40. With 15 years having passed, the granddaughter could be 22-28 years old now. Considering how easily she was able to fake her being an up-and-coming member of the law enforcement community, she's probably more towards the higher part of the age bracket.

So now we just need to find out why Yakumo's shitty excuse of a biological father has anything to do with this and everything will be fine...right?

I think I tired reading this before - at least 4 times and I always stopped after figuring out what a shitty, dumb damsel in distress the female MC is. I don't know, but somehow she just pisses me off. Something about her rubs me the wrong way.

What is with this cliffhanger? The suspense is killing me.... This manga is really good. I like the characters and storyline. It's really interesting, I hope there will be a new chapter soon.
